Too bad we didn't ask for a deadline extension to take more of a look at this: http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_20944.shtml Not enough perhaps, but a decent start, and something might have been made of it. Guess there's no point in worrying about it now, though.
So if the situation continues to be unpleasant for Bibby and it gets worse do you guys think he might opt out?

Agree.
Until the Webber trade, Petrie didn't make mid-season bandaid adjustments. I'm thinking this could be interpreted to mean the days of trying to find "quick fix" solutions are finally over...
Maybe because the season ticket holders will be asked to renew their tickets next month and the way this season is going they will be dropping like flies. I really don't know if I want to throw out my cash(Most is due before free agency begins in July...how convenient) knowing that I very well might end up with this same roster. Every team seemed to be scared to take on Bibby and the additional 28 million left on his deal...considering he is about the only moveable piece of the ****ty contracts we have I'm not sure what hope we have??
I think the opposite is true. Petrie has, either on his own or because of urging from the Maloofs, continually made "band aid" type deals. Short term stuff to try and keep the team competitive. That clearly didn't work. If he wasn't willing to pull the trigger on a trade deal this time, it could well be because they have finally realized you have to actually treat the wound and not just the symptoms...
I just do not subscribe to the notion that Geoff Petrie is blindly stumbling around with nary a clue about what it will take to right this ship.
I've decided to not renew my season tickets. I don't mean to troll, but this team is going nowhere and Petrie has thus far failed in starting a youth movement. I've struggled all season to sell tickets, even at $51 for $81 face value tickets. This means I've repeatedly had to eat the full cost of the tickets and I can't justify the expense any longer. This decision has been brewing for some time now, so I'm not overreacting to today's bad news. It's just time to do something else with the $2,000 or so dollars I spend every year to watch the Kings.

Yeah, I read an article talking about how Geoff didnt trade Bibby because he wasnt getting the expiring contracts and draft picks he wanted.
...Bad outcome, but a good sign. This summer could be the start of actually rebuilding the team.
Well, maybe that's a message the Kings need to receive. You can talk up your sellout streak all you want, but the fans are tired of living in the past and want to see some legitimate, meaning moves to make this team truly competitive again before opening our wallets.
I would have been fine with the team getting worse to get better. But the Kings did the worst possible thing: sit on their hands with a semi-bad team, especially in a draft year like this one. It's pretty much impossible to improve a team like this when management does nothing.
If the choice was sitting on their hands or taking on Marcus Banks' bad contract, I'd take the hands.
I also wonder whether the Kings' interest in acquiring Gooden was tied to being able to move KT or Shareef. I can't imagine a scenario where having all three of those guys the rest of the season would end happily.
im so sad i had hoped that a trade would happen so we could accually see a movement in some direction my time as a kings fan is over 2000-2007 hopefully when or if this team finds a direction i might become a fan once again as for now i might just cheer tha damn stupid lakers
You're kidding, right? Corliss Williamson is a class act and savvy veteran. He can speak with experience of going all the way and winning the big show. He's got a sixth man of the year award under his belt and he's ALWAYS ready to play.
Corliss is one of those players any team in the league is lucky to have as a mentor to their young players.

Where did you get the idea teams were scared to take on Bibby and his contract?Everything written has been that Cleveland was desperate to take on Bibby. And the Heat apparently wouldn't have minded too much either.
