Artest - Staying? Going? Who cares? (merged)

Freak'n Artest... I liked the Odom for Artest and Kenny Thomas deal... now we are still stuck with Kenny Thomas and get Nothing for our best defensive player... maybe even best or sec best player on the team.... What an idiot!

My God, the draft hasn't even started yet and I'm already out of breath.

OK, if he does opt out we miss on swaping him for something valuable (a pick would have been nice), but speed up the rebuilding process. Probably makes us about 12 games worse for a much better draft pick next year.

How likely is a sign-and-trade? Is it even possible?

Oh, and I'll have to give Vescey a "I was wrong" nod.

Don't fret, LO for Artest/KT was never going to happen. Lakers don't want to trade for Artest, they're only willing sign him.

Artest is crazy, how many times does this need to be said? Anything he says has less weight than one miniscule grain of salt.

His agent is probably more trustworthy. Artest is crazy and will say anything that pops into his head, in the end his agent will probably be making the decision for him.

Let me know June 30th.

Better yet, July 1. I wouldn't put it past Artest to show up with a Circuit City receipt with "I'm opting out" scrawled in crayon on the back about 3 minutes before the deadline with his agent on the phone telling everyone he's staying at the same time.....

True. Do people want him to opt out? I'd prefer he does. The only way I want him to re-sign or not opt out is if it's for a trade or a S&T.

I see no use to keeping Artest. Losing him would result in a better pick next year. It's nothing personal against him, he just doesn't fit here.

We need to can that fool if he doesn't do it himself. For just this sort of utter insane chaos. To quote a famous cartoon bunny "what a maroon". Shoo already.

I would not mind artest leaving if we had a bunch of young guns that needed time to develope but thats not the case.

Garcia is my boy and all but the guy is 27 and douby is weak sauce LOL. We will see how things go today.

dear ron,

this is beyond stupid. this team isnt all about you. with the talks of the draft, rose, beasely, who the heat and bulls are picking, oj mayo, and big trades..im sure you feel left out and away from leading the headlines. but there's too much going thats keeping you from getting the attention you want. who the hell cares if you're staying or going. quit changing your mind because most of us dont care. you know when you want to be somewhere and you know when you dont. there is nothing wrong with saying "i dont know". shut your mouth and lets deal with this after july 1st

Who cares anymore? The guy flip flops. As good as a defender he is, I don't think anyone in the Kings organization or the Kings fans want to deal with this crap anymore. We all should be focused on how to build a better roster with this draft coming up, and all Artest does is distract everyone away from pretty much the number one priority. Deal him, let him go, whatever, let him be another teams problem. I get enough distractions with my beloved Denver Broncos and Brandon Marshall.

Who thinks Petrie will draft a SF now? If Alexander is available you probably can be assured that's who we are going to pick.
