The Rockets’ injury ambiguity continued, even with their return to relatively good health.

While Rockets forward Ron Artest told a website on Tuesday that he might sit out until after the All-Star break, his agent said after speaking with Artest and Rockets trainer Keith Jones that Artest’s sore right ankle might not put him out at all.

"He’s just sore," David Bauman, Artest’s agent said. "I don’t know how much or if any time at all will be missed. I can tell you based on everyone I talked to today, he’s sore, he’s doing his treatment today, he’s taking it one day at a time and there hasn’t been any conversation about shutting it down.

"Ron is very frustrated about not being able to penetrate and do the things he can go. To my knowledge, was not as sore or as badly swollen as it was. I think he was venting a little bit."

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said he would not comment.

Artest told CBS.com, "I think (sitting out is) something that probably the trainers and coaches will think about. They pretty much told me that when I get better, whenever I feel right, that I would pretty much get the OK. They know I want to play, so it’s not a thing where they're saying, 'Hurry back, get ready.' I thought I was ready to come back for the long haul. I guess we got one victory out of it."

Wow, and look how frustrating it was for us last year! The Rockets are in the midst of a playoff race and they have to deal with it.

It's almost scary if you visit any Houston message boards. There are a LOT of comments that could have been lifted out of here almost word for word. All you'd have to change is the name of the team. This has to be one of Rick Adelman's worst nightmares...and waking up in the morning doesn't make it go away.

do you think the rockets will do the smart thing and trade him away or try to keep him for the playoff run?

This is from the Houston Chronicle. Adelman seems pretty pissed.

After spending the month demanding as much certainty as possible about who would be available to play, Rockets coach Rick Adelman was perturbed to learn that Ron Artest thought he might have to sit out an extended number of games.

A Web site on Tuesday reported Artest might be out until after the All Star break, though his agent David Bauman, said there had been no talk of shutting it down and by Wednesday morning's shootaround Artest said he was playing. "I think there's a way to do things, a way to follow protocol or procedure," Adelman said. "I don't feel like I should have to read it in the paper about what a guy is doing. Usually, if someone's hurt, whoever it is, they see the trainer. The trainer looks at them, gives them treatment, and we can make some kind of plan. If it is more serious than that, they go see the doctor, and they talk to me about it, I talk to the player and we move on from there. ... We need to have some type of order and we talked about that. We've talked about it for a while."

Is Adelman pissed? Oh yeah...

Adelman said. "I don't feel like I should have to read it in the paper about what a guy is doing. Usually, if someone's hurt, whoever it is, they see the trainer. That bolded part is about as strong a comment as I've ever seen from Adelman and he's being very tactful. I have the feeling his comments in private weren't quite as reserved...and I don't blame him a bit.

Biggest problem is Artest. Hate to say this but he is too much of a selfish player to fit into the Adelman system. And it's not really his fault, this is how he was forced to play the past few years. He tries to do too much IMO.

I had a membership over there when we traded Artest to them, and basically told them all the same things, and told them that "He's your problem now"...

I got banned from the board for being a troll heh.. Might go back and re-register ;)
