I hate everyone on NBA Coast to Coast. They're all jackasses trying to make excuses for Artest. ESPN needs to get it together and put some intellegent people out there, not outspoken former players without any shread of good contribution to make. Maybe switch PTI to fulltime coverage.
I love how they keep talking about it, yet they have no new info. Its makes them sound stupider and stupider how they and try and change up whats already been said.

what a roller-coaster ride this day has been. mixed feeling on the whole thing.. was ready to welcome him here and support him but at the same time kind of happy it didn't happen, the guy is a loose cannon. the one i feel sorry for is peja.

I was cautiously and realistly optimistic based on the number of news sources talking about the deal. I did note that Ron might not show or might send his dog totake the physical... yes I do understand EXACTLY how nutted out this guy is.

Wait. Let me see if I understand...

Ron Artest, when informed of the decision to trade him to Sacramento, made it abundantly clear that he would NOT play for the Kings. And, considering he's sitting on the sidelines INACTIVE on the Pacers because of repeated problems with his bosses, we have every reason to believe him.

So the Kings retract the offer. As in pull the plug rather than go through a prolonged drama of "will he show?" and "will he play?'

And now, you - DocHolliday - are disgusted with the Kings?

yeah, okay. And the reason we should have insisted on making Artest come to the Kings is because we don't already have enough drama going on? Our team really needs to be short a player while the nutcase decides what he's going to do? And we need to try and field a team while Artest sits there deciding what he's going to do? Did I miss something? When did this become the Indiana Artests or even the Sacramento Artests? Not even Kobe Bryant would have pulled crap like this...

Good lord.

I dont trust the media. I dont trust that Artest said that, i dont trust that the deal is done, i dont trust that it was going down, or that peja didnt know, i know it got sent to the league for approval, but something is too damn fishy.

Im done speculating..its time to wait at the wings until this is all drawn out and THEN make a decision, its alot healthier then reading these boards and establishing an ulser.

No thanks. Look at the misery Artest has put the Pacers through. He says he wants to be traded and that starts this current mess. Of course, Artest started to spin what he "really meant" and then he says I really want to stay. Who in his right mind wants to put up with that cr*p?

I would only point out that the Kings haven't been playing too poorly without Peja as of late. Yes, letting Peja go for effectively nothing would not have been good, but this season is basically in the tank (as evidenced, in part, by the attempted trade), so may as well figure out what Cisco and KMart can do, and if Artest doesn't show up, the Kings could at the very least see whether either or both of those players can produce at an NBA level when given solid and consistent minutes. They've certainly each shown flashes of the ability this season, and both will need time to develop that ability.

I was one of those people who had been saying all along that Peja for Artest was probably a good idea. I am officially changing my position. I hope this trade does not go through and we trade Peja for someone else (it's obvious through today's events that the Kings are intending to trade him). Artest is a thug, a punk, and a classless jerk. I hope he goes to the Lakers and destroys their chemistry the way Dennis Rodman did in the lockout year. And I hope when he comes to Arco, the Kings fans boo him every time he touches the ball.

poor peja! he must feel so wierd right now.

and bleep you artest. you don't want to come here, FINE, continue to sit on the bench and not play. you could have come for a first class organization and you chose not to, so screw you, and the horse you rode in on!

He'd be worth more in pieces than Peja if we had to get rid of him and it didn't work. It's a calculated risk that you take. Even Jim Rome said it might end up disasterously, but if you are Sacramento you still do it.

I have a feeling that Ron will come to Sacramento. He will realize that now practically no other team in the NBA will take him. So he will want to come here, the question is will the Kings want him?

Why would they not want him if they can have him for the price lesser then out of form and about-to-walk Pedja?

That would be a rational thought. I doubt Artest is able to think about his career (bbal career anyway) in that fashion. I give you his last two seasons as evidence to support my theory.

And I will say it again, I hope he never wears a kings uni.

No, and they shouldn't. Artest is a cancer. He would destroy the chemistry of the Lakers, so I hope he goes there.

Just saw the news and I couldn't be happier. I wonder how Peja will respond after being attempted to traded. Sorry if that has already been discussed.

I can't believe Tim Legler just said that Ron Artest should beg Donnie Walsh to take him back and that Indiana is the best place for him. It seems pretty clear the Indiana fans can't stand him and he must make a clean break if he is to have any chance in this league.

They are talking to Mark Monteith of the Indianapolis Star on KHTK right now. He is saying he talked to Joe Maloof tonight and they plan on talking tomorrow. So apparently this nightmare is NOT over.

If Artest messes up here what makes you think he'll be worth more than zero? I'd think any teams thinking about him now would be saying, thank god it happened to Sac and not us.
