Arena Vote

this is like the craziest emotional roller coaster ever.

first we think our team is gone to Anaheim and we are very sad, then the mayor has saved us and the Maloofs have stepped up and we are getting a new arena everyone is so happy! then the maloofs poop on that idea and we are sad again. then our team has been "sold" to Seattle group and everyone is extremely sad. now all of a sudden things have the possibility of turning out better than anyone had ever imagined: New Arena, New Owners that dwarf the Magoofs in every way, and the team staying in Sac long term. amazing

Then after the Kings stay. New owners revamp the team and go out in the free agent market and bring in some good players. Then Smart was let go and a new well known coach has come in and the people have returned.

I hated playing the Kings in Sacramento. Too Noisy- Phil Jackson

The mayor should bring this video to the BOG to show how classy of fans we are.. Rooting for the opponent because it's his last game. I still remember going to that game.. Was awesome.

Also this video of when Adelman came back.

I wish Positive Dave were still alive. I would love to hear his take.
Wow. I haven't thought about Positive Dave in years. I remember him always calling into the postgame show and giving his take, back when Koz did the postgame from the Skyline Lounge. Also unfortunately remember listening when a lady called and told everyone he had passed on. Sad. He was a great guy. Loved the team. Too bad he's not around to see the rebirth of this franchise.

But it's looking like future generations will all have great memories growing up as many of us did surrounding the team. KJ will go down as a hero. Well deserved.

So what teams are available for the Seattle people to get their hands on? Milwaukee, Atlanta, Charlotte???

I have a bone to pick with you. I'm glad that your on our side, but you have to engage your brain before making stupid statements. I'm 71 years old, and I like to think of myself as someone thats open to new ideas. Believe it or not, I actually use a computer everyday, and I occasionally spew my thoughts on this fourm from time to time. What a person believes in has nothing to do with his or her age. It has to do with who they are. Trust me, there are young people that are stupid as well as there are old people that are stupid. Old people have one thing that young people don't have, and thats experience. That doesn't make us all wise, but there was a time, when old people were revered for that experience. You seldom found a young buck the leader of a tribe.

The word respect leaps to mind. Its an important word, because without it in life, you have nothing. You lost a little of my respect with your comment. I understand that you were caught up in the moment. None the less, think before you speak.

Well said Baja. Elder abuse is rampant in this society in so many hurtful forms. It starts with disrespect opening the door to worse abuses. I'm departing soon for a month in South East Asia and there it's the opposite reality. Elders are almost always given tremendous revered status, highest regard and respect. Of course, one earns such gratitude but too often in USA elders are tossed aside as seemingly worthless to younger crowd who knows everything and knows nothing.

Meanwhile, all of our new prospective Kings owners I believe are around 50 and Ron Burkle is 60.

Just got back home, cracked a beer open, and put the feet up. One victory down but the next one up is the big one. If you haven't started fighting yet, now would be the time. #BestInTheWorld

It was awesome being there tonight. Long, but what a fun ending to the day. A few notes:

Met Fireplug tonight, which was cool. Nice guy.

KJ asked for no applause so they could get through the speakers quicker, hence the "happy hands" that were mentioned.

Pannell has been like that for a little while. I don't know what happened, but she does seem to have suffered some incident as she used to speak much more clearly and evenly.

A bunch of us were signed up to speak but never got the chance. No worries, Mike did well on all of our behalf.

KJ stopped to take a photo with us after the post-vote presser.

You idiots talking about age limits really should can it. There is a lot of wisdom gathered with age, some day (when you get older!) you will realize that. There were young folks disagreeing with the arena deal too.

In fact, look at the photo with KJ above. Look over both shoulders - a great couple I have spent many Crown Downtown events with. They are grandparents and she brought some delicious homemade cookies for everyone to snack on while waiting to enter the City Council chambers tonight. Kennadog here on our site has been one of the most staunch proponents of this downtown arena and she will tell you she is over 50 (and has before, so I am not saying anything that will get me in trouble!). Look over Mike's right shoulder - a wonderfully pleasant and fun great-grandmother who is wholeheartedly behind this effort.

So shut your ignorant pie-holes or I will for you. Capiche?

Plus Irate Ivan was probably no older than 25 and as confused and belligerent as any "old person" also against the ESC. His petulant slapping of the microphone was pretty darn epic.

I was really looking forward to looking through this thread but those age comments and a few others made a thread that was supposed to be positive and exciting into something frustrating and irritating.

Good job at making youth look reasonable and open minded.

The whales, KJ, community, and Sactown getting it done is awesome. Proud to be a Kings and Sac supporter!

Who gives a ****!

Through all of this, the majority of the people in Seattle's corner have shown no respect or sympathy for Sacramento and it's fans.

They are the biggest goddamn hypocrites on the planet.

**** those
poachers. They can go away empty handed for good for all I care.
