Are my eyeballs on crack?

On Kings.com where they've got the stat leaders listed, it has Mike averaging more rebounds this season (4.5) than Brian Skinner (4.4).

If this is correct, it must have something to do with Skinner's extended bench time in Philly, but that just seems crazy to me.

While I cannot speak to the sobriety of your eyeballs, I can point out that Mike's 4.5 come in 39 min anight while Skinner's 4.4 come in 16 min a night. Give Brian 39 min a night and he's up to about 10rebs/gm, which hopefully would be enough to keep your eyeballs out of rehab. ;)

On the Kings he is averaging 14.4 RP48 which is the highest on the team. Bibby averages 38 or something MPG, Skinner averages 16 mpg for those 4.4 RPG. MPG has alot to do with the RPG numbers.

I knew there had to be a logical explanation.

Running out of coffee is a bad, bad thing.

Speaking of King Tut, anyone else notice that he seems to be doing a good job getting us off to faster starts with his blocks and rebounds?

I really like what he brings and hope that he can stick around as the backup C behind Brad next year.

What is it with you and your eyeballs? If they're not on crack, you're threatening to poke them out with chopsticks!

To clarify, VF is the one who threatened to poke her eyeballs out.

I simply stated that if I were to do so, I'd use chopsticks for the job.

Skinner is averaging 8.9 rebounds with the Kings and 1.4 steals and 2.4 blocks.

Off subject, I was looking at AK47 stats and this guy is averaging 3.33 blocks per game! this is a crazy stat from a non center.

The real question should be...WTH was Philly thinking by not playing Brian Skinner, the dude is a walking Double Double every night.

Philly has the inate ablity to bring out the WORST in every guy not named Iverson... look at Webbers stags.

Don't forget they have taken matt barnes and put in on the injured list!

That team does not know what is going on.

I was actually just looking through the philly site and you can see that Skinner was playing like 5-10 minutes at the most every game! That is why he has so few rebounds. I hear that Philly fans are mad because he was never used now. (I am sure that someone has already said that though)

Coaching seems to be pathetic over there. I think they are winning in spite of their coach, not because of their coach.....

Well in Philly they had Dalembert who is a pretty good center and Marc Jackson who is also pretty good. They really didn't need Skinner. Skinner is great for us because we need him but they didn't need him nor would probally use him well.

Same coach was giving Dalembert DNPs earlier this year too. Coach is an idiot. His idea of an ideal big man is Antoine Walker. Hence he will never win in the NBA, and they might has well just fire him now if they have any real aspirations.

I know this is a bad example and I don't think Jim O'brien is a great coach by any means, but let's say you have Bledsoe but you have Brady on the bench. Brady is never used but when given a shot succeeds but Bledsoe is a still a good quarterback. Not saying this is the same comparison, but last year they had Daly and Jackson and they are both playing well. Who knows with AI what Skinner would do if he started.

With Skinner's game it should make relatively little difference. He's not scoring on designed postups for the most part, jsut hustling, banging, rebounding, shotblocking and picking up garbage. Actually exactly the sort of guy that you SHOULD be able to team with Iverson -- does not need the ball.

Skinner is a nice threat under the basket. I like his play. He will just keep getting better and better. We may have a Big Ben type on our side.

Dalembert does that, but does it better. He's a better shot blocker, and it seems a better rebounder. He's a top 5 FA this offseason due to his age. I like both players but they did give Skinner a 5 million dollar contract to basically sit on there bench, it's both the coaches and management's fault for that. Some teams can't and do not use a player's ability to it's fullest. I can't think of great examples in the NBA, well a couple.

Ben Wallace in Orlando and other places.
Jermaine in Portland.

Basically steals that were trades. Webber in Washington I guess is another one. We might have stolen Skinner but they obviously didn't need him. If you have 3 AIs let's just say, only 1 can play. That's basically what they had in Philly 3 guys with about equal skill, only 1 or at most 2 can play significant minutes.

i'm glad geoff got skinner. i don't know what the coach over there is smoking to keep him on the bench all year, he's been awesome for us!!!!!!!

It is hard to believe that the Philadelphia 76ers management could have be so stupid. The members of this website could, by committee vote, do a far better job of trading or acquiring players than Philadelphia's management . It's hard to believe that people are actually paid a salary to bench players like Brian Skinner and Matt Barnes.

Two more thoughts.

1) Poor Chris Webber.

2) More than ever, I appreciate Rick G.W.E. Adelman, Geoff Petrie, and the Maloofs. We are indeed fortunate to have these guys.

Did anyone notice that Skinner's passing is improving? I think he passes better than KT. His handoffs are better (KT waits for the guy to get there and then gives them the ball, I think on the handoffs, the ball should be kind of thrown into empty space as the guy is comming around for thim to grab), and also had a nice bounce pass to Bibby at the free throw line.

i hope skinners FT % improves aswell. peja needs to put up a sacramento kings FT clinic.

I noticed that like the day before yesterday...and I too had to stare at it for a while to make sure i was really reading it correctly and whether i was actually reading the rebounding box

i dont think anybody was saying skinner should have started for philly. i think most of us are just scratching our heads as to why he didnt log consistent minutes off the bench? he'll be coming off the bench in sacto, too, but ya can bet that he'll play more than 5-10 minutes a game.
