Anyone have a clue what the starting lineup will be?

With the current players we have who starts where?

PG Bibby
SG Martin
SF Artest

I would assume those ones but what about the PF and C?

God, that's depressing. Same old, same old...

Sure do hope something/anything happens.

short of a Bibby trade, I doubt anything will be any different come October/November...and yes, it is depressing.:( But on a brighter note, I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance with Geico!:D

Well, here are my notes on this unrealistic prognostication way too early:

Bibby/Price/Shakur/Douby
Martin/Salmons
Artest/Garcia/Caner-Medley
Miller/Moore/Hawes
SAR/Watkins/Williams/Thomas/

Projected starters in bold based on July 15 view. Thats 16. Kings have to carry 13 active players but no more than 15.

If Bibby goes, which seems likely, someone else or others comes in. If Gooden then Kings have 5 shooting for 3 PF spots. That means Price moves up to #1. Scary but not too bad.

Gotta wonder which of the bigs we have that become part of a trade package. Wonder if Maloofs are considering any buyouts??? Thomas perhaps? Brad? (But don't know if Mikki Moore is ready to step into #1 at the center but he did start 59 of 75 games for Nets last year and did well OK in playoffs).

But Brick is right. We got 2-1/2 months before training camp starts and 3-1/2 months before rosters need to be set so all this is pure conjecture and speculation at this point. Kinda fun but unrealistic.

If Petrie has his way?

Miller
Moore
Artest
Mo Pete
Bibby

And possibly swap out Artest or Bibby for veteran journeymen who are over 30 with a jump shot being their only skill. You can never have enough veteran journeymen with jump shots.

I have a clue about what the starting lineup will be... Same as last season... A better question would be, does anybody have any clue what the front office is doing? Because I sure don't.

Where did Martin go? Also, a 7' C that cant rebound playing PF, next to a 7' non rebounding center? yikes!

I would rather have;

C: Hawes - Miller
PF: Williams - the mess behind him
SF: Garcia - Salmons
SG: Martin - Salmons - Douby
PG: Bibby - Shakur - Douby

of couse I have the hated Artest out of here.

It was a joke/sarcasm.

But to continue with the sarcasm, the Kings don't need to play or develop Martin when they can get a great veteran with no upside in Mo Pete. We're in a win-now situation and will spend big to snag stars like Mikki Moore and Mo Pete, Martin can lead the cheerleading squad or maybe wait around for an expansion draft.

Duh.

Hawes is going to be with us for awhile. He is a Petrie type guy and likely a Theus kinda guy with his running and quickness and offense.

Going back to my summary of a roster, a very unrealistic prognostication way too early:

Bibby/Price/Shakur/Douby
Martin/Salmons
Artest/Garcia/Caner-Medley
Miller/Moore/Hawes
SAR/Watkins/Williams/Thomas/

This is a roster of 16. 15 is the max now and 13 the minimum. So if Bibby goes, so must one or two more pieces but then we get back some pieces. Miller is likely here this year and next as he is not worth his salary based on last year.

So, based on the experiment in Vegas summer league, Cisco becomes the PG? or even Shakur.

Martin, Artest and Miller are in concrete 3 months before training camp is half over. Watkins needs to win the PF spot and Mikki Moore could wind the 5 spot from Miller. Wouldn't it be nice if Brad decides to retire!!! :D Oh what a joyous thought. If he looses his starting spot, does he even want to stay? Would he be a "Pop" in waiting??

So maybe a starting linup of:
Cisco
Martin
Artest
Moore
Watkins/SAR

and main bench guys:
Price & Shakur
Salmons, Caner-Medley and Douby
Hawes and Williams

(kinda leaves out Thomas and SAR tho', doesn't it???)

right now its looking like

mike bibby/price
kevin martin/garcia
ron artest/garcia
spencer hawes/mikki moore, shareef abdur rahim/thomas
brad miller/spencer hawes/mikki moore

I dunno.. I really want to just scrap the old guys, and go all young.. Seriously would just want to do somethign like;

C-Hawes
PF-Williams
SF-Garcia
SG-Martin
PG-Shakur or Price

This is probally a 30 win team at the most, but we can at least see what we have with them, and then go from there in the draft. I have a feeling next year will be a PG, and maybe get another pick somewhere to get a PF too in the top 15.

Next years team coul look like;
C-Hawes
PF-DeAndre Jordan, Darrell Arthur, or Michael Beasley
SF-Garcia
SG-Martin
PG-OJ Mayo, Derrick Rose, or Darren Collison

Now thats a team I would watch!

edit: One thing I like about Shakur is that if he is not scoring (in college) he stil gets the team involved. I didn't see a ton of Arizona games, but saw about 5-7 this year and he seemed to be at least consistant on that end. (assists, and getting the team involved)

bottom line is with the aquisition of spencer and moore kenny thomas will not be in the starting lineup for the rest of his pathetic career
