Any takers?

Would anyone buy my proposal of #7 pick and Kevin Martin to Memphis for the #1 pick?

Why I could see them doing it: Memphis needs a SG, Kevin is cheap and good, Pau needs a combination player, and the #7 will still get you talent in this years draft.

Why it would never happen: No one in their right state of mind passes on Oden.

Price/Douby
Douby/Garcia
Artest/Garcia
Williams
Oden

Then you go out and get a real coach that can take raw meat and grill it.

Well you're welcome. :D

Were I GM of the worst team in the league I would definitely ponder Kevin Martin and Al Horford over Durant. Maybe that's because Al is under-rated in a very deep draft, K-Mart is the most improved player of the league, and because Durant could be over-hyped. The kid is good, don't get me wrong, but I might elect to upgrade two positions over adding depth to one.

And remember, Kevin Martin has upped his PPG to over 20 points and he has not been the benficiary of a big man. So he could have an even higher ceiling with Gasol and Horford.

Stoudamire, Martin, Miller, Horford, Gasol could be an exciting lineup.

Exciting lineup = still less than draftig a HOFer unfortunately. Which is of course why we would want to do it ourseleves.

In any case, if Durant/Oden come out I basically think the #1 and #2 picks are completely off limits for any trade from any team. Its hard to see ANYBODY risking having traded away Jordan or Shaq.

KMart gets 20 points almost in his sleep these days. Sure he doesn't always get 20+ points, but he is really good at drawing fouls with his quickness and up fakes. Getting 20 points with only 1 field goal is an amazing stat he did recently. I'd much rather go after Gasol with all we can minus giving up KMart and build around Gasol, KMart, possibly Williams, Price, Douby, Cisco in the mix as youngins with potential. They are no doubt cheap and we sure do get a lot of utility out of them for what we pay them, much more then Bibby, Miller, and K9 at least this season.

Besides Memphis gave up Shane Battier in order to acquire Houston's lottery pick last year and they selected Rudy Gay so SG is not a priority for them, PG is so maybe if we actually had a good one on our team that would make more sense for them....but sadly we don't have a point guard, I don't know exactly what we have that is claiming to be our PG

I like the coach comment though.....
