Ira Winderman - LeBron James, on the postgame moment with Udonis Haslem on Thursday's team flight, "Well, that happened on the plane. U.D. wasn't allowed in the arena. Once we saw him on the plane, it was great. I mean, we dedicated that game to him and a game ball went to him. So, it was a great moment for all of us to be able to step up even in his absence."

Um, LeBrainless? Haslem wasn't out with an injury or because of a family crisis.

Dedicating a game to a suspended player just shows how truly out of touch some of these bozos truly are.

We're still losing young men and women in faraway places on a daily basis, young men and women who volunteered to put their lives on the line so people like the incredibly shallow LeBron James could be free to continue to be obscenely overpaid for playing a stupid game. Why not dedicate a game to them?

Blech.

So if soldiers weren't fighting and dying in Afghanistan (or wherever else) then LeBron wouldn't be free to be "obscenely overpaid" to play a "stupid" game?

Why do you have to add a comment like that? It's such a cheap shot.

Rallying around a suspended teammate is pretty normal. I'm sure through their rose colored glasses he didn't deserve it. Still hate LBJ but don't see a big deal here.

I made a comment like that because I watched the coverage of 23-year-old Spec. Chase Marta's final journey home - in the back of a hearse - from Beale AFB to Yuba City. Now, on Memorial Day weekend, this comment comes out and it just seems very shallow. My main point was that the team dedicated the game to Udonis Haslem, A SUSPENDED player, like he was some kind of hero or something. The heroes IMHO are the young people giving their lives for the freedoms of the rest of us.

More to the point, Haslem missed the game because he took a cheap shot at an opposing player as some kind of misguided retaliation attempt. He earned himself a one game suspension, nobody did it to him. All fourth quarter jokes aside, people don't hate on Lebron because he hasn't won yet. A large number of people (myself included) are just turned off by his classless attitude. Lebron is a very good basketball player, but that's about it.

Nothing wrong with a hard foul IMO, sadly a lot of genuine plays at the ball are being deemed suspension worthy, especially when inflicted on poster boys like Blake.

Haslems play was to basically try and PUNCH Hansbrough in the face, which is just sad. The great players let their play do the talking, this whole fake thug, playground bully boy tactics are embarrassing.

Your post is full of ignorance. And I'm not even going to comment on the basketball aspect or James. Understand what's going on with our govt and military before you make the claim that we have people overseas fighting for our "freedom". What freedom? If anything, the U.S.' constant need to have a dominant presence in as many places around the world(all masked with the idea that we are at war or we're fighting for Americans' freedom) is creating more enemies for us and putting us in more danger.

Now this is going to get interesting. Smart-*** takes on the world. He may be right, he may be wrong, who knows? Are you the 20-ish year old guy or was that BMiller52? (I'm 20-ish myself).

Nope. Not gonna go there. You've been around long enough to know the rules about talking politics.

Congratulations. I started the thread and since it appears to be headed nowhere good, I'm closing the thread.
