Ankle strain sidelines Cousins

some of the responsibility has to go to the training staff. are they not stretching and taping the players properly? they say down here in so. cal that the lakers have one of the best training staffs in the nba and that is one of the reasons why they always seem to have their key players healthy to play...

maybe the kings need an upgrade with the training staff and their player preparation and strengthening....

So, our starting PG, SG, C, and backup C are all out? Bummers.

Further down in the article it mentions that Reke and Beno were back out on the court, so its just the bigs who have been wiped out at the moment. I still find it amazing that armed with maybe the deepest big rotation in the league, we have needed every single one of them, and a splash of Darnell Jackson too, just to make it through preseason.

They say hmm? Is that why Bynum hasn't played a full season and Kobe's index finger will fall off before he has grandchildren?

This has become so ridiculous the only thing to do other than throw a brick at your computer screen is to just laugh it off.

I mean, these are all minor injuries...

..But at this rate we're going to have to play towel boys on our starting 5 by the time the regular season comes around

Between this and players showing up in a condition that apparently takes the organization by complete surprise, it does make you wonder. You can talk all you want about bad luck, but after a certain point you have to stop using that as an excuse.

The Phoenix training staff completely revitalized Shaq and Grant Hill and kept Steve Nash running at a high level long passed the point when people thought his back would snap in half. Detroit brought Ben Wallace back from the head. Sacramento rarely seems to be able to make it to the start of the season with a full roster. The Clippers always seem to have freak injuries too, but when you look deeper and realize how cheap Sterling is and what a shoestring buget the trainers run with, it makes sense.

Kobe choose to continue to play like that, so I'd put the burden on him. Bynum spends his time rehabbing from knee surgery by carrying around Playboy Playmates on his shoulders, so I doubt he listens to anything they say to him.

We should have kept Jon Brockman ;), too bad he's also injured.

I hope that Demarcus gets better soon and he won't have this problem again...Hopefully this has nothing to do with his conditioning.

This really depressed me. I know it's the pre-season and these are minor injuries....BUT.

kingsboi said it best:

I'm just preachin' to the choir sir, that is all. This team already tends to pee me off while they play, the season hasn't begun and it's frustrating.

Someone in another thread mentioned Tyreke doesn't tape his ankles. I'm not sure if other guys tape their ankles or not. But it damn well should be required from this point on.

Sprained ankles happen, but shouldn't at this rate. I'm curious as to what kind of lifting programs these guys are doing in the offseason. There are stability exercises meant to prevent sprained ankles, and I have to wonder if the players are doing any of that stuff. I'm concerned because even if these are minor sprains right now, how many of them will be re-occuring throughout the season? Last thing we need is 3-4 guys battling nagging ankle injuries all year.

There's really only so much you can. There aren't big muscling running alongside to hold the joint into place. You step on something with 200+lbs of pressure on top of it, over you are going to go. And after you sprain them a few times, the ligaments get looser and it happens easier each time. On the flip side, happens easier, but more likely to be mild since the ligaments are already stretched and less likely to tear.

Anything he do to add articial support, braces, tape, whatever, he should be doing though.

I watched the T-Wolves against an under strength Laker team in London and they looked good. Michael Beasley was running the show and seemed to be enjoying his ball.

Darko had the most pathetic post up moves i've ever seen, he is garbage. But they looked good in transition and had a lot of pace down the court.

In case you hadn't heard, he is almost as good as the guy in your avatar.

Oh yeah i mean you can see he's got all the raw skills to be as good as cwebb!??? errrr no.

he did one post up against Character where he just moved his shoulders left and right a couple of times before turning round really fast and forgetting to take the ball with him.

was just horrendous. But that aside i'm not gonna knock the Wolves too hard i thought they looked ok.

I've watched a few pre-season games and i was really impressed with the Raptors and the sixers, Jrue holiday looks damn good.
