It just seems like everybody is doing it now. It was awesome when the Gourds and Dynamite Hack did it, and even kind of cool when the dude on AI did Kanye... then the dude that did Paula Abdul... I just don't find it all that original and I bet the guy has 20 videos on youtube that are worth more time.

Bro he's not a pop star, he's just doing it for the fun of it... what's he gonna do create a whole new image or style just so he can put out stuff in a style nobody's ever done before? I don't know... it just never occured to me that this genre is "over done". I say the more people play music the better. Maybe you just have more of a professional musician's take on it than I do, as just a guy in my living room.
We do agree that the guy's a great singer!I tend to give the same style to a lot of my covers... see below...

I think the high stuff was a stylistic choice but she nails the rest of it.
Speaking of amateur singers since we all seem to have abandoned it... thumbs down to American Idol. Josh should have made the final, my other top 2 was Skyler.
