All-in for Next Tuesday [FINAL WEEK!]

So, Tuesday is Fan Night on NBA TV, and the game that has been selected for tomorrow night is lakers at Wizards. Well, any time anything good happens to the gd lakers, it's a net negative, but we don't play tomorrow night, so whatever.

Why am I bringing this up, then? Because, during the Pre-Game Show on NBA TV tomorrow evening, they will announce that the polls are open for the next Fan Night, on Tuesday, Dec. 3, and that should be of interest to all Kings Fans: we are at home, that night, hosting Oklahoma City and, after a cursory glance at all the Tuesday games this season, I believe that next Tuesday is, arguably, our best chance to "win" Fan Night all season.

The other games scheduled for that night are:
ORL@PHI
MIL@BOS
DEN@BKN
DET@MIA
PHX@MEM
CHA@DAL
TOR@GSW

... And they don't always put every scheduled game in the poll. But, since we're hosting OKC, we're almost certain to be one of the matchups to vote for. The only "glamour" team, besides the Thunder, playing that night are the Heat, and they will be hosting Detroit, so we can very well win the voting.

So, go to http://www.nba.com/nbatv/fannight, Kings Fans, and vote early and often! Polls are expected to open tomorrow, at or around 18:30 EST (or 15:30 Cali time, if you prefer), and remain open until 23:59 EST on Thursday. There may be a limit of one vote per day, per device.

Kings/Thunder doesn't even appear to be on the ballot?! What's up with that?

Someone who's on Twitter, please tweet @nbatv #FanNight, and ask why? At least try to find out why, out of eight games on the schedule, only five are up for vote?

Maybe they couldn't book rooms in Sacramento? The airlines are all booked?

Slim, after looking at the games and start times .. I'd guess that the reason it isn't on the ballot is because it is a west coast start. The latest game on there is a 530 pacific start.

I might be willing to accept that explanation, if it weren't for two things:
  1. There's already precedent for them allowing fans to vote for west coast games; in fact, a west coast game won the vote, just two weeks ago.
  2. The west coast games weren't the only ones left off the ballot.

Basically they had choices to make, wanted to limit things to a reasonable number of choices, and decided it was absolutely inconceivable anybody would want to watch us. Seems pretty clear. Been half a dozen years since the story was any different.

Another reason why I want Boogie to make the All Star game. At this point I don't care who we have to squish to make it happen. I'd lose games in exchange for him making the All Star game just to give the Kings SOME kind of exposure, some evidence to the powers that be that we are still in the league and worth noticing.

Let's try this again!!

The good news is that we're actually, finally, on the ballot. The bad news is that our competition consists of:

POR @ CLE
OKC @ DEN

Voting is open until 23:59 EST, 12/12/13. Let your voice be heard, Kings Fans!

Get out there and vote, Kings Fans! http://www.nba.com/nbatv/fannight. You can vote once per day, per device, until midnight Thursday.

I'm looking at it like this: even if we have no chance for next Tuesday, a strong enough showing in the voting may keep us from getting snubbed the next time we have a Tuesday game, like we were when I created the OP. Maybe if we can get up to 20 percent, we won't get left off the next ballot.

Pretty dire when the named to sell the matchup are "DeMarcus Cousins v......Michael Kidd Gilchrist" :p

Just call me Don Quixote, if you like...

Last chance to vote, Kings Fans! Get yours in before midnight EST/21:00 PST.

This is it, people! This is our shot! Only four games scheduled for next Tuesday, and the game that would have been the most likely to win the vote (OKC@MEM) was left off the ballot! The three games up for vote are:

NYK@CHA
SAC@IND
CLE@LAL

If we can't win next Tuesday, we can't win any Tuesday. This is also going to be our best chance to get Cousins some All-Star love, on a national stage. So, go to http://www.nba.com/nbatv/fannight, Kings Fans, and vote early and often! Polls are open right now , and will remain open until 23:59 EST on Thursday. There may be a limit of one vote per day, per device.

Just voted...we're almost tied for the lead. Vote, people!

Voted.
If I see this thread up tomorrow it will remind me to vote again.

It looks as if we're still tied with LA....we should win this match-up....

Someone get America on the phone and let them know:

A) We beat good teams, so that game could get interesting
B) Kobe is injured
C) Bynum is no longer on the Cavs
D) Kobe is still injured
E) Instead of only one team sucking, BOTH Cleveland and LA suck

Why do I suspect our lead has more to do with Indiana than us? :p

Actually that game scares me for national TV. Suddenly Boogie gets a game in front of casual fans, and it has to come against maybe the toughest center defender in the league. He goes 5-17 in the game and it will just be one more wave of the same old nonsense chatter. Gay gets to go against George, and he might look bad too.

Voted.... You know win or lose it would be nice to see our team on National TV. Not that we have deserved any credit lately, but if the choice is LAL vs CLE or SAC vs IND, then what is the problem. Faker fans are pathetic... And they should FORCE KOBE to play in the AS game if he is forced in by the popular vote!

I see where you're coming from, but Cousins would take him out on the perimeter and face him up. He can use his jumper and his quickness to negate Hibbert's defensive abilities. Plus being the great passer Cousins is and the fact that Hibbert will be drawn out of the paint, Cousins should have ample opportunities for assists. On the other hand, I could be dead wrong about everything I just said. It will be an interesting match-up. That's for sure.
