Adelman to be the Blazers new president??

This is not the first we have heard of this. Post a link and we can check it out. I am having a hard time believing this will happen.

"That Rick Adelman is the front runner to be named president of the Trail Blazers in the reorganization that followed the departure of Steve Patterson. Former Spurs scout Kevin Pritchard officially was named general manager. Not only did Adelman coach the Trail Blazers from 1988 to 1994, he was an original Trail Blazer, on the roster in the expansion team’s first season. The Blazers named former Spurs scout Kevin Pritchard their general manager on Thursday." San Antonio Express-News

ISH grabs samples from newspapers around the country and they're generally pretty reliable.

If it happens that would be a nice cushy score for Rick heading off into retirement. No more being low man on the totem pole as a coach -- no more whiny millionaries, know it all fans, meddling owners. Just work behind the scenes for a franchise that looks to be on the rise again, back in his adopted hometown, and then eventually ride off into the sunset on his own schedule.

Agreed. Congrats to Rick if this comes about.

One thig is for sure if RA does take the helm in Portland they will be aquiring guys who pass the ball... The Kings might be able to ship Miller up there!

I don't know. I have heard some very interesting things about that owner of the Blazers.

You look at what Musselman got out of this year's team (nothing) and it's amazing what Adelman got out of his guys year after year. Webber, Vlade, Peja, Bobby Jackson, Doug Christie, Scot Pollard, Jon Barry, Mike Bibby, Bonzi Wells and Brad Miller all had their best years in Sacramento. A lot of those guys were significantly worse before or after their time with Adelman.
