According to Big Cuz's Twitter

DMC just updated his profile info on Twitter. It now says "Forward for the Sacramento kings ...different type of guy." Previously, it said he played ball for Kentucky. What do you guys think of DMC referring to himself as a forward and not a center? I'm sure he could play both positions but it is still very interesting seeing as the organization and the fans look to him as a center primarily.

It's a twitter description....
We are dissecting a twitter self-description....

Damn TDOS. At least summer league starts in a few weeks.

My first thought was that he is intending on starting at 4 alongside Dalembert at center. I was under the impression he couldn't guard the 4 well enough so his spot was best played at 5. It's curious.

According to DMC's latest facebook status, he said he enjoys apple pie. I don't know any centers that enjoy apple pie, could it be possible he plans on switching to another position like small forward?

apple pie and small forward have no relation. Forward and center does. You fail at trying to sound witty.

He also wanted to be a guard when he showed up at Kentucky. He's not a PF, he's a center. He needs to wrap his mind around that.

Are we really having a discussion over his twitter description. Come on. He's a center. He dominated at center at Kentucky. Vlade was right though. When he showed up at Kentucky he asked if he could play guard. Calapari showed him the center spot on the floor and told him to stay there. I think he can be a top three center in the league in two years. That may say more about the pitiful state of centers in the league than it does him, although I think he would be good regardless..

While I see your point about what it says about the current state of Centers in the NBA I think this kid has the talent and skills to potentially be that even if the league had a saturation of skilled centers. He's a solid two way player with size, speed, footwork, some nice post moves, and solid defense(at least).

I don't think any of us are going to have a discussion of his twitter post though lol... We'll wait to see what happens come summer league before it deserves a discussion I reckon.

Actually, his post was pretty awesome.

If this is the kind of nonsense I can expect from DeMarcus, then sign me up!

....it's funny as long as he's working his buttocks off on the court, that is.

Here we go again on labelling players, as if we are Gods of basketball and we know everything and we know the future. Guys just to remind everyone, if we are so knowledgeable about basketball, we're probably not be typing here and instead we're working in the NBA. Let us not over-rate our basketball knowledge too well.

" Evans is not a point guard. He is a shooting guard! ".

Are we going to go into these kinds of threads again?:p

I would say let Cousins try the power forward position. He is 19 years old. He could still farther develop as a player. Just imagine if he could be a good power forward.

Dalembert at center and Cousins at power forward. This could be the most formidable pairing especially defensively!

Yep, experiment away.

Cousins can put the ball on the deck and also hit jumpers from 15+ feet away. While I'm sure Kings management drafted him as a 5, don't be surprised if they try putting him on the floor with a traditional center like Dalembert or (eventually) Whiteside. Calipari isn't joking when he talks about Cousins trying to lead fast breaks on occasion or try his hand at being a PG haha

Example of Boogie showing his (very awkward-looking) ball handling skills:

Not gonna lie, he looks pretty good in that video. I'm so excited for this season to start.

I can see trying him at power forward, just as an experiment, but I really can't see him settling there. I mean, he's clearly a full-sized center. If he was undersized, I could somewhat understand, but he's not even close to being small for the position. He's a traditional center in a league that's gone small ball (yet where the champs, gasp, are full size).

Hey, if he can get down to 260 or something and be fast enough then I have no problem with him playing Power Forward. Of course even at 260 will he be quick enough to guard other forwards?

Before we label what kind of athlete he is. Let's see what some professional trainers can accomplish with someone that up to this point has never lifted a weight or has done a squat.

He'd be the least athletic PF in the league.
Then try to develop his power forward athletic skills some more. The more skills that he acquire, the better he will be. Let us not limit his potential to just being a center because he is still very young.
