Believe me, I'm not knocking the people that are excited, I just don't understand. And I'm "glad" the Arena will be on the ballot. However, like I mentioned before its great to see them reach an agreement after they worked their tails off and I might add having us fans go through an emotional roller coaster of yea, it looks good...then..no it doesn't look good. I'm going to be the first one to vote come election day, however, I just don't want to get excited then come to find out it doesn't pass. I guess you could say I'm going at this news "cautiously".Why are people excited?
Perhaps because - for the first time - we've seen something tangible and positive come out of this whole arena issue.
I was excited about the Kings coming to Sacramento before they ever got on a plane, too. It's kind of the same.
It's the people who are excited right now that will do the most to make sure this proposal passes.
Just wondering if anyone knows if there are plans to build a new practice facility on the railyard site? It would make sense to have them next door to each other, but then again, it wouldn't make sense to blow up a relatively new practice facility on the soon to be old Arco grounds. Just looking ahead... and being optimistic.![]()

I mean look at the KCRA poll, its just way too close to where it can go one way or another.

That's not the city's only freebie. The city does not own the railyards. When the arena is finished and open for business, the money the Maloofs contributed become instant equity in the property for the city. That's money the Maloofs give to the city. (I'm not naive, they are giving it to buy a future revenue stream, of course. Out of which they still have to pay the city rent.)I just wanted to point out with everyone so concerned that the Maloofs are getting a freebie handout, that somebody else is cashing in on this deal. Yes your favorite city is going to be free to sell the 100 acres of land adjacent to Arco Arena. This land is commonly referred to as the hole in the ground that was supposed to host the Raiders or some MLB team. Well that land went though a variety of owners and banks before it's final owners, the late Fred Anderson and Buzz Oates, DONATED the 100 acres to the city of Sacramento. And now the city is going to sell that for approx $500,000 an acre. I suck at math, but I see about 50 million dollars of pure profit for the city.
Ok, I just got home...did I miss anything??![]()
Watch, when it does not pass we will lose the Kings, than some of the people that voted no will wonder where the Kings went.
If we go out into the public we have to let people know that the Kings will be out of here if they don't get a new arena.
You would be suprised how many people don't know this. My mom, and sister did not know this. Good thing I educated them into yes votes..
That KCRA poll is too close for comfort. I think a lot of Kings fans voted which kind of distorted it a bit.
