A former resident of Grand Forks, North Dakota (UND, baby!), I wish people could forsee how great this could be. An alumni named Englestead put forth a huge amount of money to build a $140 million hockey arena for the college, and a regional bank built an $80 million sports dome, and both have done wonders for the town. High profile concerts, sold-out sporting events, new hotels, new restaurants, and most importantly, NEW JOBS. If it makes a difference in Grand Forks ND (a.k.a. middle of nowhere), think of what it could do here!
Hopefully people will look toward the long-run. Yes, it's funded by tax, but is .0025% really going to pinch people's pockets?
