A point guard log jam

Point guards and big men traditionally take longer to figure it out at the NBA level. I see no roadblocks to Davion's continued development. He's borderline untradable at this point not because he's a star (obviously not), but because it's not wise to cash out on players as they are making big strides.

Petrie had exquisite timing in trading away players at the peak/end of their major contributing years.

I expect a massive jump from Davion next year. Bobby Jackson type off the bench is completely within reach, and soon.
The problem is he won’t develop playing off the ball and being primarily a C&S wing. Originally Monk was going to play that role but he shocked the league with his skill as the primary ball handler off the bench.

I expect the same from your favorite, Kessler Edwards. I am a little surprised the fans (and writers) do not view him the way you do.
It's always a challenge for a team to develop multiple players, particularly when the team is playing for something. In our case, last season was a blessing in that we didn't have many injuries (cross all fingers and toes fellow Kings fans). For guys like Kessler though, that means a smaller chance to enter games.

Vinny made a point about Petrie trading away guys before they hit their peak, and unfortunately, that's very true. Guys like Hedo, GW, and IT became all stars and more for other teams, while we drafted and developed them. That said, those were the right moves (to some extent) then. Trading for Brad at that time was the right move. As for GW, which still hurts, I'll die believing that Petrie did him a solid by making him available in the expansion draft. It was not a lack of planning or foresight, but a general nod to a young guy that he deserves better than riding the bench.
