A definitive mock draft?

Interesting approach to a mock draft here, with the picks being made by beat writers from each team who are closest to the buzz coming from their respective front offices: http://www.ibabuzz.com/warriors/201...most-reliable-mock-draft-youve-seen-thus-far/

Although J. Jones has been overshadowed in his local coverage by Amick, he still makes the pick that fulfills some of the suspicions that have come out of the last couple of days of draft activity.

The majority of the lottery picks in the mock are actually quite realistic IMO. Picks get a little shaky later in the draft, as it tends to happen on the actual draft day.

Most interesting scenario presented by this is Jeff Taylor falling out of the first round completely.

Anyway, with all of the trade rumors swirling, I truly hope Petrie decides to stay put. We're in sniffing distance of MKG miraculously falling to us -- just let the chips fall where they may and don't cash out early.

Question: If we do manage to get MKG in the 1st round. Then if somehow some way Taylor falls all the way to us in the 2nd do we still pick him? I mean ideally we would and then move 2 or 3 of salmons, outlaw and garcia. But that sounds highly unrealistic does it not?

I'd look to get another big as we lack depth and physical numbers there. If JT gets injured we'd only have Cuz, Chuck and Hassan.

This might be the most reliable mock draft because of the sources used. There are tons of indications out there, however, that there are going to be a LOT of trades on Draft Day. Napier was intimating as much yesterday. And he also strongly implied the Kings would be involved in this player movement and that they were interested in veterans, not one year and done guys. Unlike past years, it sounded to me that he was confident the Kings will make a deal. Maybe they already have made a deal. We'll see...

I kind of like the idea of getting Taylor along with MKG. At some point we may acquire all the NBA SFs and be in a great position to trade. :) Nah, I'd go for a defensive PF or a true to life pass first PG. If we got MKG, I would consider anything we got in the 2nd round as gravy; a bonus. At some point we have to be good enough that whoever we pick in the 2nd round will be inconsequential.

Thanks for posting. Seeing the comments by the beat writers is interesting. :)

If JT gets injured, then we will be forced to give Whiteside some playing time. Good for Whiteside's development, because he is just rottening on the bench. It's time to give him the chance to develop with actual playing time.

What's wrong with that?

It is not as if those 3 big bodies (Cuz, Chuck, and Hassan) will definitely be in foul-trouble or foul-out every game.

That's the way I have been looking at it but there are all kinds of ways of going as long as the theory of building stays consistent from moment to moment. The Maloofs tend to go with whatever seems hot at the moment with little consideration to the overall effect on the team. My faith in Drummond is low and I am hoping he is picked before we have the opportunity to pick him.

They started getting him playing time last year and he sprained his ankle and was out of the rest of the season. It was just bad timing.

What's wrong is you're then counting on Hassan to produce for us. I'm all for giving him time to develop, but you can't just plan to give him all of JT's minutes (or Cuz or whoever) and expect to win. You need to have some sort of fallback.
