76ers killed the Lakers

8 losses in a row... jsut out of curiosity what is the worst loosing streak that the Lakers have ever been on? Maybeit's not too late for Kobe to make Laker history?

Combined 12-48 ?

I'm sure as hell not worried about them coming in tomorrow if they shoot like that.

The game before they combined for 68 points...

You know they won't shoot like that 2 nights in a row. We'd better be ready for a battle. They really want to move up to #6 seed so they don't have to play Heat or Pistons. GOOO KINGS!!!!

Alright, hoopsfan....it is time to contribute more than just 1 liners. How do you really feel? Having a bad year, huh?

BTW - after I get back there, you are joining me at Players to watch a Kings/Lakers game. And you better bring reinforcements because I sure will.:p

Los Angeles Lakers: Chucky Atkins, whose locker used to belong to Shaquille O'Neal, became the latest Laker to criticize Kobe Bryant. Asked about what moves he would make in the offseason to improve the free-falling Lakers, Atkins took a shot at the seeming control Bryant has over the team.

"I ain't the GM of this team," Atkins told the Los Angeles Times. "Kobe's the GM of this team. Ask Kobe. You've been watching this [stuff] all year. You've been watching it and I've been playing it."

Yes, the Lakers are having a bad year, (but that's not to say that I am)..something that Kings fans know better than I. ;) But that's alright...they won't be down for long, they never are.
I, for one, certainly was not expecting a contending team this year; more around .500 (which is still possible). When you have 1 returning starter (who missed 15 games), 9 new players, a new coach who then leaves mid season, a replacement coach who doesn't want to be there and tries to install another offensive scheme, (and obviously NO defense).. you've got a team where they're at right now.
Does this season make me less of a fan? No. Does it make me not wear my Laker stuff? No. Does it make me support them any less? No. Am I still going to root and support them when I go to Staples in a couple weeks? You bet!
Hopefully, with a longer off-season, Kobe will get some rest, and Mitch and Buss can get something done that will have a positive impact on the team next season.
But, hey, there's no pressure, and that's better on my old ticker at this time of the year...got to find the positives, right?

And that's how I really feel. :p After 30+ years of being a fan, this season is just another bump in the road.

I'll take you up on watching the game at Players...maybe Gargy can make it and be my reinforcement!!!

How's the job search going??

Is that where he was before? That is too funny. From Cibona to Lakers.

He was with Detroit and Boston last year. LA this year. Somewhere else next year. How many teams is that?

Your best post yet. You actually put some thought into it. :p

Yes, it has been a rough year for Laker fans and I would not expect you to switch your allegiance after all these years. But, you cannot have been a fan for 30+ years. You aren't old enough for that. ;)

Job searching from 2,000 miles away really sucks. My patience is sorely tried.

Chuckster is denying this, btw.

You are too kind. ;) I even remember the 72 title, though I was a youngster and not a die-hard fan yet....but my mother was and still is. I'm glad I don't remember all the close game 7's vs. the Celtics in the 60's...I was too little then.

Kobe is forcing him to deny it. ;)

Chuckit is supposedly one of Kobe's closest teammates and he sed he was misquoted, like maybe he was being sarcastic and it got twisted. Or maybe Kobe is forcing him to deny it.

Clsoest teammates in Kobe's case means that the dagger is not still poking out of his back, right? ;)

You guys still don't get that Kobe destroyed your team do you? How many guys have to come out and say it from your own team before you believe it? You realize Shaq is tearing it up in the east and you aren't even going to make the playoffs right?

Jerry Buss and Mitch Kupchak don't make moves based on Kobe Bryant's desires. That's Hollywood slant.

I don't care if Atkins sleeps with Kobe, at this point I'd trade him for cash and a cheeseburger. Preferably a double cheeseburger. He's worthless.

Atkins or Kobe? ;)

Really, you must not be paying attention. Kobe's the ONLY one that comes to play every night...Atkins just THINKS HE does.

Well, whatever they base their moves on it's not working.
