Well, if the Kings despite being completely dumb, dumb lucked their way into seeing the potential Devin Carter has then things will be looking up in the youth department. The math is there. If he can hit 3's, he's 20 plus in the league from the looks of it.

On the other hand, Perry findig all these guys who apparently were good but never got the opportunity elsewhere for some reason is giving me a little more confidence in his talent evaluation skills.

There is a game within the game though, and he's losing at it, lol. Or Doug is. Doug will ride those vets till his dying breath.

I'm blaming Doug without blaming Doug if that makes sense.

Like, he's fighting for his coaching life here. Of course he's gonna ride the vets.

As the Vivekian cycle continues, we'll probably see Doug get fired sometime mid season in 26-27, then Perry gets to pick a coach.

Then Perry gets fired, Vivek puts Bobby Jackson in as HC, then Vivek hires a new GM for another rushed rebuild, et cetra until Anjali is put in charge and breaks the cycle by fielding a team of NBA players she has or wants to date, some of whom might be murderers, who knows. By then I'll be rooting for the Seattle Supersonics.

Hopefully the Kings would have the inside track to re-sign Plowden. Fringe NBA players are usually better served staying with the team that gave them the break to get consistent playing time.

Unfortunately that's not the issue, finances are. The Kings are so screwed financially right now because they added money next season in the Hunter trade and the NBA even lowered the cap by a million next season so no bump like usual. They could eat DeMars 10 million and still not be able to afford them. If Plowden gets a 4-5 million a year and Precious gets a 8-10 the Kings are right back at the 1st apron. Factor in the 1st rounder and there's almost no way unless they can at least partially dump some of the bigger contracts like LaVine, Monk, or Domas via trade and get immediate salary relief. Perry positioned himself well to showcase guys like Nique, Devin, and Maxime because they have contract control. FA's? Not so much. In fact, not at all lol.
