That's not really his game. He can throw down some great dunks in transition but his real athletic skills are more lateral and running. His leaping ability is actually moreso seen with his rebounding than dunks.

I think it could help his offensive game if he can harness some of that in taking it to the rack. Will be interesting to see how he comes back for next season

Zach has elite handles for a 2 guard which is what makes him so dangerous since he can create so many of those looks himself. Keegan can get going but he's going to have to be spoonfed by someone more often than not.

We don't know that. He's spent his whole NBA career so far playing next to high volume shot takers. These numbers suggest he might be able to handle more of a scoring load if given the opportunity:

The one area where he could end up being really good is drawing contact at the rim. He needs to develop a bit at finishing at the rim which is where he's a little clunky, but he shows glimpses of all the shots coming off pick and roll you'd want from someone like him. A floater might be a thing he wants to work on the most. He goes up with one hand outstretched to the board which is the "way" according to "experts", but drawing contact might be it. He had a really good free throw rate all through his college career and has the frame for it.

If we show up like we did tonight Weds in Utah should be a gimme. Two days rest then Sat in Houston. Schedule gets rough after that so let’s hope tonight was a sign of progress rather than a fluke and we use the next week to continue improving

We know it by watching his lack of ball handling. Needs to figure out a way to improve that to get there as a real focal point

I think it's still an open question. By his own admission Mike Brown hardly ever ran plays designed to get Murray the ball where he might have an advantage -- coming off a screen or matched up with a smaller defender. It's possible he looks like a fourth or fifth option because he's being asked to be a fourth or fifth option.

I'm not saying with a volume uptick he won't produce, but even in college he wasn't getting the same kind of shots you see from LaVine. The comp was LaVine which again, is a totally different type of player. Keegan is assisted on 80% of his FG's this season and this is largely why he has games where he's shooting the ball 4 times or whatever. Which fans complain about, but in reality he's playing his role and doing it well more often than not. Can he get his own? Probably in some ways, but I wouldn't expect him to do what you saw out of LaVine very often.

Naw his ball handling is terrible. Soon as you blitz him he's passing the ball.

He will never be able to create for himself. It's just not in him. Doesn't mean he can't be good though

I'm not a believer yet but if we can get this kind of effort out of LaVine as often as we got an "Angry Fox" night we're going to come out on the right side of this. Monk said the last few practices they had were key for getting the offense on the same page so let's hope that was what was needed. Defense is still going to be an issue with this core.

Wild seeing the Wayman Tisdale call back on Zach's shooting. He and Mitch made some bad teams bearable.

Didn’t this Hornets team just beat the Lakers on their home floor? This is a solid win in my eyes, especially with Lamelo playing

They also lost at Portland after that .. (let me check)... 141-88 so it's not like we killed the beast.
We could have beaten them with an even higher margin if we were more careful at the start of 1st and 3rd quarter.
