The day is here. The day both 49ers fans and Seahawks fans have been waiting for since the very beginning of the season.
We knew it was just a matter of time. We had to play a full season before we could meet in what, for many NFC fans, is the super bowl. What happens today is what matters. What happens two weeks from now will be icing on the cake.
I am a 49er fan. That's no secret to anyone. My son-in-law was born in Seattle in 1976, the same year the Seahawks were formed. He is a Seahawks fan and has raised my grand-daughters, the amazing little princesses, to be the same. Today is a day when family ties take a back seat to team rivalries. We both hope for a good game and fair officiating, while each quietly hoping our team kicks the crap out of the other team.
Not sure how active I'll be in this thread but I felt uniquely qualified to start it. Ironically, while we're rooting for opposite teams during THE game we will all be rooting for our beloved Kings (and recording that game to watch later).
This is the game I've been waiting for. Season meetings are out the window. This is for ALL the marbles. One of us will be incredibly happy and the other will be crushed. This is what true rivalries are all about. This is the Hatfields vs. the McCoys, the North vs. the South. This is what being a sports fan is all about ... and I love it!
GO NINERS!!!
