#22 and Lamb are Available

Kingfor3

Prospect
It was posted by Mark Stein that Charlotte is offering Jeremy Lamb and the #22 to create space to sign free agents. I think this would be a great deal for the Kings

Jeremy Lamb is a long wing that can play 2 or 3. He is a young vet that got caught up in a numbers game.

The #22 would allow us to get a guy like Denzel Valentine, Dejounte Murray, Juan Hernangomez, Demetrius Jackson, etc.

With the likelihood that we will not have a pick next year. I think this an excellent opportunity to get multiple picks in this year's draft, a young veteran, and possible address a few needs

I'd do it... Free agent market will be super competitive this year, I'd take the pick for some of our cap space. Exact opposite of vlades deal last year though so doesn't seem likely.

Lamb and McLemore are both young players who struggle with the mental side of the game. Joerger is not known for playing young players or developing them. If Lamb sucks it up here, we basically have a worse McLemore on a long term 7mpy deal.

That's a big risk we'd have to take for the 22nd pick. I was a big fan of Lamb and I thought he would excel with the change of scenery, but he hasn't. To make things worse, we don't have a ton of cap room

Sign me up.

The #22 pick is what really excites me, but Jeremy Lamb could become a break out player.

Lamb has been stuck behind some good players and needs some PT to show his worth.

This is a small gamble, plus you pick up a lower 1st rounder.

Lamb's been a frustrating player since he was drafted, his motor and (reportedly) commitment to improve are lacking. He still needs to pack on 20 more pounds, but has all the skills and tools to be a nice 3andD SG. However, he's just never put it together, and his motor/commitment are to blame.

As much as I like what's in the 2nd half of this draft, I'd say "maybe" and keep hunting.

I trade for Lamb and the #22 though, would depend on what the Kings do at #8.

If the Kings get Hield or Murray at #8, they have no use for Lamb and his salary.

If the Kings get Dunn, Baldwin or a big at #8, then taking on Lamb and his contract may be a gamble worth taking.

I'm a little confused by this. According to what I've read, Lamb is an unrestricted free agent, and therefore wouldn't be a drain on their cap. Nor could they trade him without first signing him. What I originally read was that they wanted a team to take both Lamb and Hawes along with the 22nd pick. My first thought was that Lamb was a sweetener to get someone to take Hawes off their hands.

Kings should be on top of this, that would be a good get IMO. Lamb is young and still has plenty of room to go, who knows, under Joerger he could blossom, you never know, plus adding another first round talent to the mix.

According to bballreference Lamb signed an oops! 3yr extension at $7mil per on Nov 2, 2015. So aquired him, extended him, now have buyer's remorse:
