2023 NBA Draft Omega Thread

If this is the way it ends up, it makes me think that for sure, Paul is going to LA. The LA LAKERS that is. The West gets tougher. More talent going to direct competitors for little to nothing basically.

I read it has to do with Brogdons injury concerns or something. So, now LA is concerned about injuries? LOL. KP to the C's might happen according to Stein without the Clipps. I sure wouldn't mind Monte stepping in and snagging KP. That trade package wasn't exactly high value.

That would’ve been highway robbery. Rebuilding teams typically want value for their assets.

That would’ve been Beal and KP gone for a 30th pick, second rounders, and salary filler.

With Kuzma possibly gone for nothing. Imagine losing that three with nothing but second rounders to show for it. I hope it fell apart because the Wizards realized it was a crappy deal.

I still don't understand the Grizzlies trading away Tyus Jones with Morant looking at a 25 game suspension to begin next season. This really must be about doing Jones a solid more than anything since he seemed to want to run his own team instead of continually being a backup.

Of course, I'm not sure a Wizards team just starting a rebuild is the starting PG role he was envisioning.

So the Grizzlies are trading Tyus Jones and two FRPs for Marcus Smart?

Smart definitely seems like a Grizzlies type player, but that seems like a bad move on their part. It might look better after Morant's suspension when they can start Ja, Smart, and Bane along with JJJ and Adams, but that's still poor floor spacing and a smaller starting 5.

Yeah, it's not like Porzingis was signed for 4 more seasons. He was an ending contract already. Plus he's injury prone enough to potentially be an unwitting tank commander.

I also don't understand it for Memphis either. That's a steep price for Smart IMO.

I think the high salary is hard to match without taking on long unwanted contracts. One could argue a starting caliber point guard and a pick isn’t too bad for a guy you had no interest in keeping.

Philly style Process mode activated until they find their next John Wall
