I'd certainly like it a lot more if we hedge our bets with a second pick in the first round. The dominating and winning MVP thing doesn't really move me much because of the extreme differences between the NBA and FIBA right now. If he had an unblockable step-back three or all-NBA defensive potential that would be one thing but the real question here is how well his dominance will translate to the NBA. I just don't see Fox/Haliburton dribbling up the court and dumping it into the post 30 times a game. We could have played a massive Bagley/Whiteside front-line and tried to bully teams with that strategy this season if we'd wanted to. Instead we played Buddy at SF with a Barnes/Holmes front court duo. Maybe there's some massive league-wide change coming that I'm unable to see but personally I'd hope we build the roster around smaller. quicker defenders at every position and 4 shooters on the floor at all times.

Cousins was the last Kings player to make an all-star team (he made four, two with the Kings and two with the Pelicans) and twice was on the all-NBA 2nd team while in Sacramento. He was in line for a super max contract until he had another meltdown and Vlade dealt him for Buddy and NOP's 1st.
I'm not comparing Boogie to Sengun but you seem to be moving the goalposts a lot in trying to find reasons not to draft him. Which is the only reason I find myself in the odd position of defending him. I've actually been a Jalen Johnson guy since before this last college season even started but all the chatter I'm hearing makes me think some of the red flags are significant. And that's on top of the holes in his actual game.
So I don't know who my favorite pick is at #9. But if it's Sengun I wouldn't be disappointed.
I think the only guys that would really disappoint me would be Giddey, Mitchell or a reach like Trey Murphy.

Westbrook on the Lakers has felt like an inevitability for quite a while. Let's just get it over with so we can hear all off-season how a Russ/Lebron/AD trio is a lock for the 2022 championship (that they are not at all a lock for).

The Lakers with an elite off-the-ball shooter like Buddy would have been scarier than the Lakers with a ball dominant dude who can't shoot and cherrypicks on defense like late career Russ so their loss I guess lol

I could see Kuzma/Harrell/22 or KCP/Harrell/22 for Buddy Hield. That would really improve the shooting around Lebron/Davis. But Kuzma/KCP/Harrell/22 for the Russell Westbrook of 2021?? I mean, go for it, Lakers. Let Russ shoot you out of games or clog up the paint so James/Davis are forced onto the wings. What a weird pivot. I was starting to think Pelinka and the Lakers' front office had some competence to their strategy...

Really does feel like the Lakers won the bubble championship by accident rather than via some sort of masterplan by Pelinka and Rich Paul
Even on the basketball court, star power matters more in Hollywood.
