Do the Kings make a surprise Free Agency splash?

Should the Kings force the Nets hand on Bruce Brown? The Kings love those 6'4" guards but he can play SF and if the Kings are running a 6'1" player at 4 positions might as well go all in on the gimmick right?

Hart doesn't fit the bill IMO. THT would be a tremendous gamble with upside. Vanderbilt would be a great upside gamble if not overpaid. Porter,Winslow those are gambles the other way right now. If it's your only move it could just as easily blow up in their face. Better than Whiteside last year since they do play valued positions.

THT and Vandy are youth gambles that are only potentially available because of their current teams cap situations. You always take that shot when you're a team that needs an influx of talent, especially on the defensive end.

Porter and Winslow are injury gambles absolutely, but are only in the MLE price range because of said injuries. Would contribute more to "win-now".

Hart is probably the middle ground of a younger guy that can fit in with the core at a position of need. Tremendous rebounder, doesn't take offensive possessions, versatile defender.

nice! So literally “no harm no foul.” Still have our MLE, still have rights on Davis and Holmes. Moe fits in as perfect depth. Great all around.

Sounds like we have the BAE since we had Harkless non-bird rights. Let us sign him to a 120% of his previous contract. Don't know if they'll use both the MLE and BAE, but nice to leave the option open.

Plenty of time still..

No kidding. I see big deals going to guys we couldn't possibly afford and in most cases wouldn't want at those prices anyway, and anxious fans too often wedded to the oh-so-tired "Kangz"-can-do-no-right narrative. Course, I also generally like what Monte has done/not done under significant constraints not of his making.

I loved both draft pix and am guessing that the Kings do indeed retain Holmes and add solid-if-unspectacular wing help in FA. (Moe is a solid depth piece.) If he can turn the Buddy and Bags chips into additional, above-average frontline help, I'll be a very satisfied fan.
