To add I don’t hate Bagley at all I like his game love his mortor and character.

However, we had a tailor made player for this era and we passed on him for fit with a pg who disappointed last year. Every playoff team had multiple player makers on there team we now only have fox/Bogdan. ‍

ZBo is going to be here whether we like it or not. No one is trading for him and they aren't going to just release him. I just hope his tutelage of Bagley is in practice only and not during games.

I'm actually almost just as disappointed that we had Bates-Diop drop to us in the 2nd and we traded the pick away. The two future 2nd round picks that we got in return probably won't hold the value that Bates-Diop holds in this draft. This guy was mocked in the late teens, early 20s this whole time. Obviously he fell because some teams didn't like him as much as other guys but it wouldn't have hurt to take a flyer on the kid. Maybe the Kings just didn't want to add yet another super young player to the fray. I think it was a bit of a mistake.

Yeah, I agree. I was more excited about the pick before I heard Vlade Divac try to convince us that Bagley can play the 3.

Your basing your opinion on "feelings" and "vibes" What about facts, evidence and reason? Jerry Reynolds said Bagley reminds him of young KG with his mobility and explosiveness around the rim. David Robinson was effusive, saying he reminds him of a young Duncan with his poise. Most young bigs rush down low. Bagley refuse to be sped up. Coach K said Bagley is the best big he has had in 38 years. This is more significant than your "vibes".

Not saying Doncic has bad character, he's a great kid and his teammates seem to love him. He's just young and and growing, with some of the usual things that go along with that. Dallas is a great fit for him and I'm excited for his future there.

I don't know about Dallas and being a great fit for Doncic. They just drafted a ball dominant Alpha Point Guard last year in Dennis Smith and he has already staked his territory.

I can't see Dennis Smith sharing the ball that easily. He seems like a player that would have an issue with sharing the ball, much more than I think Fox would have.

How was this the safe pick. When call the writers and 70% of your fan base think Luka’s the guy it hardly seems the safe pick to take Bagley. Vlade went on a limb and will be the hero or the goat.

Doncic is the gamble pick...with higher risk and reward imo. I would've picked Doncic - anyway. Bagley looks to be a good player, but I wonder about his potential. That's my opinion from watching him in the tourney. Vlade went for a good player with less potential imo - that's being safe. I also would've gone with JJJ over Bagley who looked to have more potential using both hands and a better long range shot. Bagley was 4th or 5th in my book.

I think Bagley has great potential. If he is able to become a solid shooter he will be close to unguardable. And defensively he has all the tools except maybe an amazing wingspan. Now it's just about him to unlock his potential.

I dont know about great potential. FTs are a red flag - and average passing if that. He looked lackadaisical when the Blue Devils needed leadership against Syracuse and Kansas. I don't think he's a leader. If the Kings have a lights out shooter or an alpha player already, I think it would certainly help Bagley, and he would thrive more. He'll probably do respectably I think to start. He looks like he'll help the offense perhaps at a defensive cost imo. He better work on his FTs and his defense - no excuse not to shoot 75% and improve on those effort areas. In that respect he has an advantage.

Vlade had every reason to appease the fan base, making the widely popular choice and satisfying our nostalgia for the fancy passing motion offense of the glory days. In the immediate short term, it would have been a win for him...and then we would be dealing with another highly skilled emotional player with maturity issues, along with a penchant for partying that wasn't a major issue with DMC. Been there, done that, and I'm still exhausted from it. I'll take the other highly skilled player that has maturity and doesn't come with so much potential for distraction and drama. And as much as I loved White Chocolate, I would choose Dirk over him any day. I applaud Vlade for sticking his neck out and making the choice most likely to get us where we need to go, as a winning team with a winning culture.

No chance does Luka have higher upside than bagley. Luka is safe... He'll be somewhere in the hedo/Manu/Hayward range. The sky is the limit with Bagley though, he doesn't have the athletic constraints Doncic has and is really skilled for a guy that size that can move and jump like he does.

To me, from the eye test, I think his ceiling could be The Greek Freak (since we are getting words that Vlade thinks he can play 3-5), and at worst he'd be a more athletic Deandre Jordan. Whereas Doncic's ceiling could be a less athletic Lebron, at worst he could be Ricky Rubio with a hairy trigger.

Just my opinion and I am totally open to being wrong.

I think the experience of playing with Doncic leads to ball movement. Plus, Carlisle won't put up with ball stoppage.

I often disagree with you, but this take is right on. I preferred Doncic, but the more I look now at Bagley the more I'm convinced we made a good decision. We weren't going to lose IMHO with either young man.

So, i was in a pretty bad mood yesterday. Listened to Grant all the way to the Arena. It was a nightmare getting in there. Didn't even get food because the lines were insanely long and not moving. I left after about the 4th or 5th pick.

I wanted Doncic. I have NOTHING against Bagley, I hope he's the best player in the draft class. I really do. He's exciting. I think my frustration is I don't believe that this front office understands how basketball is played since the rule changes have gone into effect. We have 6 bigs. All of who should play NBA minutes. 2 of which we wont trade and 4 of whom probably dont have great trade value.

I was really hoping we would be able to swing WCS, 37 and ?? for 12-14 pick a grab porter. I'm probably more upset that didn't happen than anything that actually did happen. Especially since we were tied to those picks pre-draft.

We need to make some moves and I don't know that they are able to be made.

It's not that we want to be loved. We want a symbiotic relationship with our players...something we haven't haven't had in a long time. The last time we did things went pretty well. It's pretty nice to hear players openly say they want to be here. There isn't anything wrong with it.

Let's see we got the second pick in the draft and at the worst we got the consensus third best player in this draft.
Giles is ready to play, He was the best high school player in the country,
Bogi looked great last year
Hield seems like he works hard and could be even more improved this year
Everyone wanted Fox and now he has one year under his belt
Mason was a favorite and he has one more year of experience
Skal is still young and improving
Justin showed some flashes for his first year
That is 8 young players with lots of talent and potential
Add in a mix of vets like Kosta, Shumpert, Maybe Temple
a big in Zbo who can show the kids some tricks and lots of cap space

And yet a lot of you act like you lost a close friend yesterday.
The glass is half full not half empty
I personally cannot wait for the season to start

Kings fans wishes doesn't effect what management wants and eventually does.

Sacramento loved DMC and DMC loved Sacramento and the FO traded him.

The Kings fans overwhelmingly wanted Doncic, but that didn't happen.

The fans affection for a player has little to do with what the FO chooses to do.

But it is always a good sign when a player and city have a bond.

I am speaking about the bare minimum expectations Kings fans have and the way the organization routinely abuses those low expectations. The Kings routinely lie to the fans. They say things that are ridiculous and expect the fans and press just to nod along. It's the only constant variable over the years of losing.
