EAST: (4) Chicago Bulls vs. (5) Washington Wizards
Game 1 - Sun. April 20, Washington at Chicago, Wizards 102-93
Game 2 - Tue. April 22, Washington at Chicago, Wizards 101-99
Game 3 - Fri. April 25, Chicago at Washington, Bulls 100-97
Game 4 - Sun. April 27, Chicago at Washington, Wizards 98-89
Game 5 * Tue. April 29, Washington at Chicago, Wizards 75-69

On paper, this looks like a close call, but I think the Bulls are clearly the superior team, and they will be able to dispose of the Wizards in 5. Bulls take this series 4 - 1
 
I like the upset here, depending on whether Nene plays or not. if he does, the Wizards have the size to contend with the Bulls and enough weapons to hurt them defensively, whereas the Bulls will be really hard pressed to find enough scoring. of course, Randy Whitman is kind of a crap coach and might screw this up for the Wiz, but still, Washington in six.
 
Nene killing the Bulls frontline in the first half ofthe first game Noah looks even more powerless than he did against Cousins in the first meeting.
 
attacking DJ Augustin with Andre Miller was a good idea, make the Bulls pay for playing him. a good game, all in all, pretty brilliant work by the Wiz frontcourt, too.
 
When Nene has it going and is in full attack mode (he's not relentless enough) the dude is a straight up freak, he's a powerhouse with insane mobility, skills and very high basketball IQ and while he does not average as many assists as Noah he's easily imo a better passer. He lets Wall and Beal run things to much he's never been a player that's selfish enough he's unstoppable one on one.

The guy other than the mind has every talent possible to be a walking 20+point 10+ boards player. I don't think I have ever seen Noah dismantled like Nene did him today.
 
Great, great win by the Wizards tonight. I'm loving this series. Great playoff basketball. Bulls have some work to do now though.

Nene again playing the Defensive POY tough and Wall and Beal growing up.

I definitely feel for Hinrich tonight though missing that free throw. Classy, hard working player.
 
Jimmer Fredette rode the bench in tonight's loss. I have to wonder if the Jimmermaniacs are storming the Bulls message boards.
 
Nene taking over again when it matters most, this has been the best series for me so far.
 
shoutout to Trevor Booker, who played an extremely solid game after getting into foul trouble early. without him the Wiz wouldn't have won this, especially since Gortat was AWOL. also good coaching move by Wittman to put Ariza on Augustin. much better matchup for Washington. not looking good for the Bulls now, just too little offence against a solid team like the Wiz and even though their bigs did get some traction last night, the Wiz really do have some size of their own to counteract that. Booker can't get into foul trouble again, though, if that means Gooden plays. Taj Gibson completely chewed him up last night.

I don't see many Jimmermaniacs on the Bulls boards I frequent, fwiw. I think the vast majority have reached the "acceptance" stage of grief.

This Bulls team reached the playoffs by playing every regular season game like it was a playoff game. I don't think the team has another gear to reach for and they are outmatched by talent at almost every position against the Wizards. It certainly doesn't help that Thibodeau plays his main guys 40 minutes during the regular season and even more in the playoffs. The Bulls' frontcourt rotation is pretty solid, but he needs to find some time to get Jimmy Butler off the floor other than timeouts and quarter breaks.
 
Bonehead mistake by Nene last night and now he's suspended for Game 4. It's mental mistakes like that, that can change a series. Bulls now have a chance to completely turn the series into their favor.
 
That end of game was among the ugliest I have seen in a playoff series. Just dumb mistake after dumb mistake, by both teams.

Can't believe the NBA suspended Nene over nothing serious instead of trying to take stars out of the game how about you do everything to keep them in the game what a joke.
 
Wizards are a better team than I realized. Good defense and Beal is going to be something special in a couple of years.

The Bulls defense is overrated, but still good. Their offense is just awful. Noah catches the ball at the top of the key and it takes the rest of the team 3-4 seconds to realize they should be cutting to get a pass. Zero offensive weapons in the starting unit and DJ Augustin has turned back into a pumpkin in this series.

To be honest, and this is just my opinion, a lot of the Eastern playoff teams are better than we give them credit for. Many on this board have just shrugged off their playoff status and gone "oh, Eastern conference", usually in some kind of attempt to make our poor play seem more palatable. But watching them play I know for sure they're a better team than we are. Maybe they "only" made the playoffs because the non-playoff teams in the East are weak, but they still play much much better than we do on a regular basis.

The Wizards team is more built for the playoffs than the regular season, to me they are the 2nd best playoff team in the East, they got size and two post up options, shooting and a top 5 PG and every single one of the starters are above average defenders.
 
I know I'm biased, but with Augustin playing like complete crap this whole series and the Bulls needing floor spreaders, what would it take to get Jimmer off the bench.
 
"Complete crap the whole series"? Talk about a tough room: Augustin is Chicago's second-leading scorer in the playoffs, and he leads the team in assists.
 
He was pretty darn bad, especially compared to his decent regular season production. Undersized, shoot first guard who was completely neutralized by size and exposed on defense. Sound like anyone we know?
 
And you feel pretty confident that Fredette, and his zero games of playoff experience, would have been an improvement, do you?
 
Nene completely trashed the Bulls this whole series only reason it was not a sweep was cause he got ejected. Gortat and Booker were great also, to top it off Andre Miller made it out of the first round for the first time ever.

I didn't say that. I would have liked to have seen something different to give the Bulls a different look. Fredette, for all his warts, is the better floor spacer.
