2011 Schedule to begin on 16th???

I saw a report on a new york board saying the 16th and on kings.com the schedule starts. it doesn't have may games listed. http://www.nba.com/kings/schedule/
is this fact or anybody have any idea?

Unlikely. They've been saying Dec. 25th since last night. Training camp and the free agent period aren't supposed to start until Dec. 9th. The 16th is just too soon.

I think plan is for Dec. 16 to be date of first exhibition games. I've heard NBA will drastically cut number of pre-season games before regular season begins Dec. 25.

Well we know the actual season starts on the 25th, so the only thing I can think of, is thats when some exhibition games start being played.

I can't think of a worse pre season strategy for a young team, then a 4 game east coast swing, if true.

That's just the old schedule with the portion of the schedule deleted that was already officially cancelled. If you add up all those games you'll find it totals 60. The new 66 game compressed schedule starting on Christams (more likely Dec. 26th for us) hasn't been released yet I don't think.
