Well, that was a stinkburger. Possibly the last Kings game I attend in my entire life...man, I really don't want to go out like that.
We were thinking of going to tonight's game, but chose the Utah game instead. I hope it is better than this one!

Man, it's crazy to think that we only have three more wins than the Cavs. The Cavs have nobody good to speak of either, we atleast should be in the 20 win zone not the 15-18 area. It shows how much upgrade we really need in some positions.

Why do you think were so bad? I mean who do you blame? Do you blame the players? When you look at the talent on the team, do you honestly think the record should be better? And if so, who do you blame? Is is because our team is so young and inexperienced? The 76er's record is 36 and 33. At the moment, they're in the playoffs in the east. Maybe their final record won't be good enough to make the playoffs in the west, but I think we can safely say, that its much better than ours. Lets take a look at the core of that team.
Holiday: age 20
speights: age 23
Meeks: age 23
Young: age 22
Turner: age 22
Williams: age 24
Hawes: age 22
Brackins: age 23
Iguodala: age 27
They also have a few older players that don't play that much, like Nocioni. But the players listed are the future and the heart of that team. Thats a pretty young and inexperienced team. I could show you another one in Houston. A team beset by so many injuries that Adelman is playing mostly young and inexperienced players. So what happened in 76er land that suddenly turned them into a much better team, that plays like a team. I'll tell you. They hired a coach that knows what the hell he's doing.
Baja, assuming the Kings cut ties with Westphal (which they should), do you think the Maloofs would ever look to try and brink Adelman back? I doubt it, but Rick would be the ideal coach for this team. You look at the skill sets and personalities, it is taylor made for Adelman.
I don't think there's enough money to get Adleman back here and as I undestand it, not all the Maloofs are thrilled with him
And expreience. Next year is another year of experience. A PG or SF through the draft and a free agent. We have good bench players. Whether they are here or there, if the Maloofs do what they say they will do, spend money on free agents, there can be a huge jump this year and perhaps more so the next year.
Yes, it is crazy to think we are in the same portion of the standings with the Cavs but it gets us a better drafy pick.
Exactly, we do have good bench players. The problem is that 3 out of 5 of them are starting for us when we have Reke and Cousins starting. Well I would consider Dally a starter as well but he is just frustrating as hell to watch, 10 years in the league? Doesn't seem like it.
What we need is to get ourselves another scorer to compliment our duo like Barnes or Williams or if we have a chance at Kyrie I would say you take him.

Who do I blame? I'll tell you who I blame, I blame our idiot of a coach first off and I also would blame our idiotic players, I mean people talk about experience but we have players on our roster that should have plenty of it when you look at it. How long have Beno, Garcia, Dalembert, JT, Donte been in the league? Obviously JT and Donte have been in the league far less than the other three I mentioned but you would think they would get it by now, or hell...atleast one of them.
Now, you know what I think of when I see the Philly roster? Athleticism, and plenty of it. They have players who can get their shots up or are just smart and know how to play the game not just for themselves but with their teammates. Aren't the Grizzlies a fairly young team themselves? Gay, Gasol, Mayo, Young, Arthur, Conley are all young players still while Zach, Tony Allen are their vets.
With all that being said, as many touches as Tyreke and Cousins get during a game, you damn right I expect some good results. I didn't say GREAT, but I do expect them to help the team because they will get the majority of the shots. Problem is, when their off who is going to pick up the slack? That's where the draft and free agency come in handy where we can balance everything out. A new coach would be helpful too that doesn't change starting line ups every week like it's a vending machine and your replacing it with new bags of chips and cookies.
I think my point was that we need, not just a new coach, but a good coach. Philly scored a lot of points because they played like a team. They got open shots. Having a good coach matters!!!!!!!! You just said we need to get rid of Jeter and Taylor in another thread, and yet you compain about the Kings not being athletic enough. Taylor is probably the most athletic player on the team. Jeter is a very good athlete. Granted, a diminutive one, but athletic non the less.

Still, we've got less wins than we did last season, and this is with the same Westphal and a supposed group of better players, unless you mean to tell me that Ime Udoka and Jon Brockman were that important to the team.
You replace Westphal with Sloan, Popovich, Phil jackson etc and you get yourself another 10 wins or so. You tell our guys to frikin make their free throws/ not foul a 3 point shooter/ secure the rebound and we win another 4 or 5. The current record that the team has is the fault of both the coaching staff and the players. Neither are blame-free. I'm not adding in the front office because I'm talking about performing up to expectations. The FO is to blame that we're not in playoff contention. The coaches and players are to blame that we only have 16 wins when we should have at least 20 by now.

Taylor might be athletic but he doesn't know how to use it to his advantage and be a productive player so it doesn't really matter. Pooh athletic? You had me there sir. o_0
Your first sentence makes my point. We have the same coach with what was suspossed to be a better team, but were worse. Hawes actually looked like a player the other night. No, he wasn't great, but he played within the system. Can anyone tell me what our system is? I'm not saying that Pop's, Jackson or Sloan would have guided this team into the playoffs this season, but they would have gotten the players to play to the best of their ability, and they would have laid the ground work for the next year. A foundation to come back and build on. Do you see any kind of system or foundation on which to build? Hell, we don't even have a consistent starting lineup after two years of Westphal at the helm.
This team isn't exactly chock full of Mensas. Garcia and Thompson should be starters on the lowest BB IQ team in the league. Greene hasn't exactly shown his basketball brilliance on the floor. Beno is mediocre for his BB IQ when it comes to point guard. And Cousins may be smart, but he doesn't show it because of his immaturity. I wanted Doug Collins when his name was bandied about, but like some said, his price tag was too great. Others thought he was too hard-a$$ed. I'll take some hard *** on this team though because some of the players seem so dense they have to get hit with a two-by-four to wake up. Bringing up Pop, Jackson and Sloan is just a false choice though. We all know we ain't getting those guys to coach this team.
As an aside, my greatest pet peeve about this team is the casual way they throw the basketball in bounds. Cousins is the greatest culprit. It's not bowling, Cousins. You don't insert your fingers into the ball and roll it to your teamate. You pass with two hands, not one. I do blame the coaching staff for that. It's ridiculous; Collins would never allow that to happen, but then again, he's hard-a$$ed.
Taylor is a young player thats finally getting a chance to play. Do you expect young players that wern't 1st round picks to just come into the league and be polished players? It takes time. A couple of years ago the Kings had a player named Wesley Mathews in on their summer league team. I liked Mathews in college and he played well in summer league. Unfortunately we didn't take a flyer on him and now he's the starting SF for Portland. It took him a couple of years, but he ended up being worth it.
As for you little comment about Jeter, I'm not sure what your implication is. Jeter is the fastest player on the team. His sister is a world class sprinter. He may be small, but that doesn't take away from his athleticism. Maybe your implying that you don't have to be an athlete to be a fast runner. Perhaps you should tell me just what you think the definition of athleticism is.
Listen, I understand he's young and he barely gets playing time. What makes you think he's going to be on this roster next year? I really wouldn't be surprised if he isn't. We have plenty of players that play his position all ready.
As for Pooh, when I talk about athleticism in terms of basketball, I'm talking about jumping ability and strength.
So speed is useless in basketball? How would you measure strength? Is it because he's not a rim-rocker?
Speed is just speed, it doesn't mean your athletic. Pretty much yeah, he doesn't use athleticism to get by. He has speed sure but that's it.
So if your fast, your not athletic. But if your slow and ploding, but you can bench press 300 pounds, your an athlete. I'm done here..
The only game we needed to loose we won.. goddamit, lol.
