2009 Mock Draft - COMPLETE!

Sorry for the backlog. Life got in the way...

KingsCitizen and the Minnesota Timberwolves are on the clock.

nbrans and the Dallas Mavericks are on the clock. I'll have the board updated momentarily.

Jerryaki and the Detroit Pistons are on the clock for the 49th pick.

Starting tomorrow - Tuesday - we'll be on a six-hour clock. If the person on the clock does not post their pick in time, the next person on the list will make the missing pick and then their own. I think this is the only way to get this done in time.

:D

It's been suggested that since we're winding down, perhaps people should just post their picks here at the end, one pick per post and I'll merge them into the appropriate place in the thread. In the case of two teams picking the same player, the team who would have been on the clock first would prevail.

How does that sound? That way people in different time zones or with only certain hours of Internet availability wouldn't lose out because of a six-hour clock.

I don't know if that would work out very well. Say I post my two late Phoenix picks. Then 12 hours later, people with earlier draft spots take both of the players I pick. Then two other people with even earlier draft spots sneak in to take them...etc.

I'd be more in favor of the short clock scenario (except for overnight) -- even more like 3 than 6 hours. If you miss out on a mid-second-rounder, tough luck. It beats the mess we'd get in a free-for-all, in my opinion.

Good point. I'm going to go with the three hour clock, with the proviso that if someone times out the next person has to make the missing pick(s) first and then post their own. And if we get more than a couple behind, I'll just go to the BPA based on whatever I figure is relevant at the time.

So, to summarize:

THIS DRAFT IS NOW ON A THREE-HOUR CLOCK! Please remember to include that information in the PM you send to the next person in line. The clock will not run from midnight to 6 a.m (PDT)...

NOTE: If you want to see me a default list of players you want should you not be available to post within the necessary time frame, please feel free to do so. Just include "Mock Draft default picks" in the subject line so it doesn't get lost in my Inbox.--VF21

I'm giving a little leeway for the simple reason a lot of our drafters don't come onto the board until the evening... Changing rules in mid-stream is always riddled with problems, but I didn't see any other way of actually completing the draft. But, on the other hand, maybe I should have just left it alone?

I'm soooooo confused.

You're on the right track... if you think interest is low now for the mock draft, wait until Thursday evening!

Precisely. That's why I was trying to get people to move more quickly...

Sorry folks. I had to go to San Diego today and left at 6 am..

Anyway with the 41st pick in the draft the Bucks pick Wayne Ellington. Probably one of the best players available at this point and it gives them someone to back up Michael Redd.
