2005 FIBA World Champ - Qualifying Tournament

Hey Gtronic in your signature why do you have Garcia listed as a SF. Sure he may fill in at the 3 at times, but his primary position is the 2.

Haha Tyus Edney is playing for the USA.

FG %
8.Tyus Edney-USA........... 5 16 29 .552

Assits
6.Tyus Edney-USA........... 5 17 3.40

FT %
7.Tyus Edney-USA........... 5 11 13 .846

Anybody know anything about Uruguay's top player? Esteban Batista? 20.2pts 15.6rebs sounds interesting to me, even against very watered down competition.

Francisco Garcia...the next AK47?

Not quite, but if he even comes close we are in good shape. Plus I think it helps to be russian and look like you have taken a few hits to the face to get the nick ak47 ;)

A scaled down, less Russian verion of AK maybe.

I don't see Garcia as a huge blocks kind of guy, and that, to me, is kind of the special factor when it comes to AK. He is amazing in most other parts of the game, of course, but the thing that seperates him from the others, to me, is the fact that he blocked so well from the 3.

I'd even be happy to see Garcia turn into a slightly scaled down version of Tayshawn Prince, let alone AK.

Please, God, or whoever is up there, let him be that good :).

Watching Cisco at the summer league I say he COULD become quite a shot blocker, particularly on fast breaks. Wait and see. You'll be suprised. If he (and KM) can become good perimeter defenders, then we will have something new (and unique for Kings!).

Yah he's not extremely athletic hes just got long arms, and great timing, most of his blocks in Louisville were just on jumpshots because he gets in so close when he's defending.

I think he is the all around type player. Which is good because he may develope in to an all around winner. Backup SF- SG seems plausible. Im hurt to hear Varajeo from Brazil went down. very sad. But hey, Francisco!
