Bill would have been spicier.

Is this 'strength of schedule' a static projection preseason, or a dynamic number from game-to-game?
Dynamic, game to game. For what it's worth, the Kings currently have two more wins than expected, as estimated by the ESPN algorithm.

The way he’s currently playing, it’s just not going to happen. Best bet is to make him so miserable that he starts sitting out games with ‘back spasms’ a then declines his option in the offseason to escape. Additional by subtraction. It feels like he has one more good but not great two year contract he will get from someone, and then moves into the vet min/vagabond stage of his career.
Yep. Pretty sure this is where we’re at. At this point it will take attaching goodies (draft picks, Keon, etc) to get him moved.

If you have to attach assets to move him I think you have to just let him expire. The team isn’t in a position to give up assets.

I'm afraid the Kings are going to have to eat that contract as you said, no use in attaching anything worth while. Put him in a bench role and if he pouts and causes drama, then you can do what the Heat did with Jimmy and sit him for "detriment to team conduct" purposes

What was Vivek thinking?

Was there anyone excited when they heard we were getting Lavine? Anyone at all?

Every scout knew that Lavine is a low iQ player with little defensive effort. Scott Perry knew this and said it publicly. All any executive or owner would have to do is ask. Did Ranadive do this? Did he value McNair's evaluation and opinion of Lavine? Probably not. It's called hubris
