Kings stepping on each other toes on offense and giving open space to the Nets. Fox making tough shots is the only thing keeping us in the game. Story of the game so far.

The nets are 25th in defensive rating with 3 big long wings known for defense.
I'm mostly talking about the attack on the dribble. The Kings switch into soft pressure and have since Jordi was the "defensive coach". It's like with doubling and not trapping. How many times do you have see it not work before cutting or adjusting?

Nets have so many of the style and size of players that the Kings don’t even have one of

Claxton, Watford, Wilson, Johnson(x2), Williams, Clowney, Finney Smith, even having somebody of Simmons size and defense would be big. None are individually great but would just about all would fit a need on the Kings.

They don’t add up to a great team but their length is giving the Kings problems.

QTNA: is the Kings' inability to get those players failure on the Kings' part, or do those players just not want to be in Sacramento?

Little goof up here, lol. Partly on Domas though he wanted the challenge until he saw it. Brown might need to be more reserved on players calling these haha.

The faith in Loucks as defensive coordinator is going to ruin this season. Another ****ing game we're on our way to getting boat-raced in 3PM, but winning elsewhere on the floor
Has to be Brown's call. Jordi played the same way until late last year and late the Kings played almost indentical ball pressure the Nets are. The Kings are sitting back on ball like usual.

Problem is, we're "scheming" opposing defenses to get 3's now. The last 2 years, we just couldn't defend it.

9th in 3PA last year. 29th in 3pt %

15th in 3PA allowed 2 years ago. 26th in 3pt %

Teams are shooting 6+ more 3's per game vs us this season than the previous 2 years. Our 3pt defense has remained awful, but there's a clear design here to scheme them shooting more 3's vs paint touches. When you're basically the worst 3pt defense in basketball (BECAUSE WE DON'T PLAY KEON ELLIS ENOUGH), you should not be letting teams get more 3's vs you. It's stupid.

I wonder if he got promoted because he's been close with Fox? He hasn't been known as a defensive guy, that I've ever heard of
I’m guessing it was the natural progression. Couldn’t really give him the offense and he was instrumental in Fox’s development so they probably needed to promote him to keep him

Like 8-14? That's the blue-print, for a team like ours.

Allowing 13-19? Like wtf? How are you supposed to beat that?
I'd like to see one of the beat writers ask Brown, "Coach, you're second-to-last in the league in threes allowed, how long do you plan to let that continue before you reconsider your defensive philosophy?"
