This is why not playing Carter minutes is hurting Keon too. Carter taking the stronger matchup and Keon playing the lanes is a recipe for defensive success at some point.
I can agree with that. It seems they just don't think Carter is very good anywhere else right now

Honestly I just want the Kings to be competitive. I know people want more losses right now and I'll never root for that, but I certainly don't want us getting railed by 50 every night. I love this team too much for that

Man, I'm watching the game. Looks like starters don't want to play in Sacramento (except Domas). Bench checks in - looks like they don't want to play basketball at all. Especially in Sacramento.

That’s exactly it. Not blaming them as they probably feel that the franchise is so toxic that it is not even enjoyable anymore. Even if they sometimes appear to turn things around, this franchise always find a way to screw everything up. How do you get motivated if there is never a push to be a winner team? A couple of beam team years was a bit too much for this franchise and they couldn’t wait to mess it up. Sadly the hometown fans seem to be okay with it too as long as they stay in Sactown and feel that they must embrace the team no matter what. Sorry for venting.

Should have just let Fox expire, if a huge contract non winning high usage player was the other option

Eh, that would have meant this season was just an even bigger disaster. The Kings did get some draft capital too so there's that. They did flush some of it to make the play in last season but still.

I highly doubt it has anything to do with Vivek or Doug. Sabonis hates missing games
I agree. Sabonis is the one insisting stay in the line up. I admire that but at some point he needs rest from nagging injury. I also don't like that Sabonis never wears protection (sleeve, etc.) getting constantly nicked, cut up in games by opponents finger nails, flaying arms. At some point those "harmless" nicks could become infected and then "tough guy" will be forced to sit out for awhile.

or held on to trade him as an expiring

Still probably wouldn't have got anything. And we know with big expirings most teams just hang onto them because in a trade you're almost guaranteed to be taking back bad salary. The real way to get assets while taking back bad salary is with cap space since you can pounce as a team is desperate to make a move right then. Kind of like how the Kings have gotten used and abused over the years.
