10th anniversary of the Game

wow anyone that says this game wasnt rigged needs to watch this. It is just unbelievable what happened that night. We should of been the 2002 nba champs and possibly back to back championships if webber didnt get hurt the next year. That shows you how much luck this franchise has. We havent even been able to get a number 1 pick. I hope we get the right player in the draft to help lead us to a championship.

I have yet to feel able to watch any of those games. It's still too painful. (Yes, I should get over it, but WTH.)

I meant watch them AGAIN. Once has been more than enough to date. Ugh. I don't even like thinking about them.

I haven't watched any of those games since they took place. That series makes me feel sick every time I think about it.

I was sick too. I almost swore off of basketball. It's too dificult having that happen. then losing the team the next year to injury. All the complaining won't give us that championship back though. All we can do is get back there some day.

You're not the only one. I can safely say that I will NEVER be able to watch those games.

The only watchable part of that series, even today, is Mike Bibby draining the winning shot in game 5. Other than that, the rest of the series can take a hike...Still remember #10's shot like it happened last night. I was there. I went crazy. I was even looking forward to Game 1 of the NBA Finals later that week.

And then...

I have watched it multiple times, because it lets me know that it took the NBA referees messing with the game to cost the Kings a championship. When the Kings are playing their worst, I go back to that series and know that greatness IS possible for Sacramento.

Maloofs weren't as cheap back then .. I think what the Kings organisation lacks is commitment and patience. Ever since we fired Adelman we haven't committed to any playing style or group of players. As much as I hate Smart's small ball, we would make the playoffs in 1-2 years if we stuck with it and got some players to make us a better defensive team. I don't think we'd make it deep in the playoffs, but it would certainly beat the coaching carousel of ****py coaches that we've had for the past gabillion years. The thing is we're good at drafting solid players, and even when put in a horrible system the guys would be good enough to make us an average team at worst, if given the time to build familiarity with each other. Problem is we keep getting really bad, cheap coaches, and so you kinda feel that it's better to cut your losses now and get a new coach so that you don't waste another season under a lousy coach. But when the next coach after that is still a lousy one, there's really no point. I don't think our record would be very different right now if we had kept Musselman, Theus or even Kenny Natt as the head coach.

Think about it, we used to be damn proud of our consecutive years making the playoffs, and now we're getting pretty close to matching that number for years out of it.

Every time someone brings up game 6 I feel sick to my stomach. Like when a relationship ends.

Things would be totally different with the Kings if that game never happened...

That's a shame. The heart that Kings team showed throughout that series is unmistakable and inspiring. Even in the loss, that was an fabulous team to watch. I've rewatched it once all the way through and seen numerous clips. Above the outrage and disappointment has risen a love for that team and a deep respect for how they played the game.

I have the memories of watching every single one of those games, and I have the memories of attending several games during the regular season. I already had the love for the team and a deep and ever-lasting respect for how they played. That's enough for me; stirring up the heartbreak by actually watching it all again is just not something I could do.
