And the answer is... WE WIN!!!!!

And assuming the Sleep Train Debt. That's huge! After all, the arena location isn't worth anywhere near that amount anymore, so it's nice that Vivek stepped up and took care of that, rather than abandoning the debt, and leaving the collateral to the city. "There is no way somebody is buying...

And the answer is... WE WIN!!!!!

Ryan Lillis had a good summary of how the deal is structured. I’m just going to put together his tweets on this: https://twitter.com/Ryan_Lillis On Vivek offer to buy the Kings. Stern said over $200m placed in escrow, which is 100% of what would go to Maloofs. $200m is based on 65% of $525m...

Monday will be crazy and other news, rumors, etc.

Gotta say that I LOVE this site. So many informed people cutting through all of the BS. I really thought the Kings were toast after H/B raised the bid. Instead, I'm now more confident than ever that the team will stay in Sacramento. By reading all of the info on this site, I've seen that...

Cat out of bag and other latest news, rumors, etc.

I just thought of this, Seattle fans are being hypocrites about their latest bid. They bashed us for putting together a bid at the last minute, and saying that we didn't have proper proof of funds, but their group is doing the same thing. Making a bid at the last minute. Do they have $75 mill...

Cat out of bag and other latest news, rumors, etc.

yes, but....if money wasn't important, then why did Stern tell Vivek to match the Seattle offer? There's a reason that the NBA didn't want the Maloofs to lose money on the deal...

Cat out of bag and other latest news, rumors, etc.

I wouldn't brush this off so lightly. This is $100 mill more than what Vivek is bringing to the table. It's very hard to ignore that...could be a potential game changer...they also agreed to be a revenue sharing payee, including their years in Key Arena. That's going to get owner's attention...

ESPN Outside The Lines PROGRAM ALERT

There is a simple solution for such problems (simple to outline, and complex to get passed). The NBA, as part of the new labor agreement, could offer to help out small market teams with an arena fund. The new labor agreement should also allow for revenue sharing of local TV revenue, such as the...

ESPN Outside The Lines PROGRAM ALERT

Hey, whatever happens, the Sacramento fans and KJ have REALLY stepped up to save their team. Much props to you guys!! . I think it's BS that the NBA expects you to build a new arena with 12% unemployment and the worst budget crisis in the State's history. From all I've seen, the Maloofs...

ESPN Outside The Lines PROGRAM ALERT

Here are my unvarnished notes from the show, quite well done, I must say. Hearts vs. heads, loyalty issues in the NBA The next two months will be the last hoops we see for a while Rabidly supported the team, may have seen their last game ever. A quote from KJ about the BOG...

Good Article about the lack of sharing local TV revenue

http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2011/3/31/2082529/sacramento-kings-relocation-nba Think about that little bit of pretzel logic*. The Kings, unable to survive in a small market during down days, cash in with a deal to move to a huge market, extracting revenue from a big-market power, the Lakers. As...

Talk about Brockman (split from the welcome thread)

Is this a debate worth having? I wanted to see if this is a debate worth having. In other words, how did other #38 pics fare? Are they all out of the league? Did any make an impact? I researched this, and I concluded that you can get a quality player at #38. I looked at the #38 pics from...

Talk about Brockman (split from the welcome thread)

How do you know this? Have you seen this guy play a lot in college? You said that you'd rather see us pick Brown with the #38 pick. Did you see a lot of Xavier games?
