I'm kind of surprised seeing LA Lakers like this

Considering I expect us to go 5-11 in December, keeping that pick seems likely.

Kings & Sonics - same level of talent?

Talent seems pretty equal to me. Losing JJ and AD will hurt Seattle more than their fans want to admit though. I stand by my prediction that the Sonic's miss the playoffs. Everything clicked last season for them and chances of that happening again are very slim. Many players had contract...

    lakers fans explain this one....

Slap on the *** happens a lot in sports :) Wanna see something funny you shoulda seen Odom using the back of Kobe's jersey to wipe off his sweat during the first preseason while Kobe was getting ready to shoot a FT.

Kobe at SF position? Odom at the 1?

I guess we'll see. He's always been more of a combo guard instead of a natural point and it has hurt him sticking with a team. Lakers were impressed by his play in the SPL by being able to apply full court pressure pretty much all game. 6'3 with a 6'10 wingspan and very athletic. He's got...

Kobe at SF position? Odom at the 1?

Typical SI. Odom is still going to be listed as the SF and Kobe as the SG. Offensively though Lamar will have what Phil calls the initiator role (Pippens old role). He'll have the ball in his hands a lot more. Luke when he comes in will do the same thing. In training camp thus far they have had...

    Nba Power Rankings

Curry played a big part in Chicago's success last season. He is their only lowpost scoring option and when you remove him their offense struggles. They're deep but we saw that without Curry they couldn't even get past Washington. Now Curry might eventually play for Chicago this year but it's...

    Phil and Kobe Together Again

THE RETURN As soon as the rumors started, Tex Winter couldn’t help but chuckle at the irony Phil Jackson return as Lakers coach for 2005-06? As mentor and confidant to both Jackson and Bryant, Winter was clearly the man in the middle. He acknowledged that the idea of Bryant and Jackson...

    Phil and Kobe Together Again

Hey not much news going on so it's at least something to read :) PHIL & KOBE TOGETHER AGAIN BY ROLAND LAZENBY EXCERPTED FROM THE FORTHCOMING BOOK, THE SHOW, THE INSIDE STORY OF THE SPECTACULAR LOS ANGELES LAKERS IN THE WORDS OF THOSE WHO LIVED IT, SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER RELEASE BY...

    NBA Power Rankings

Denver really didn't need many moves. People seem to forget Voshon Lenard was out for them all last season. He spreads the floor for that team. They added Watson who upgrades their perimeter defense instantly. Then to be safe they drafted a talented guard like Hodges to give them more depth...

where is this guy gonna end up?

Good question. Personally I don't see any team picking him up unless his knee can pass a physical with flying colors. Next few weeks will be interesting though because there are still a few nice players available through trade and FA signing. Watson, Lue, Curry, Evans, Wright are just a...

McKie agrees to terms with Lakers

Nope. Triangle can easily be adjusted to fit different groups of players. Chicago didn't exactly have great passing bigmen when Phil ran it there. Seems a lot of people remember the slow poke way it had to be run with Shaq on the floor instead of how Chicago was able to use it (not saying LA...

McKie agrees to terms with Lakers

They sure did but the problem was they wasn't really running the triangle. Around Jan. Phil buckled down on the team and wanted to see more triangle execution and less freelancing. Payton quickly became upset and pouted for the rest of the season and into the playoffs because of it.

McKie agrees to terms with Lakers

Yup. Plus from the LA Times article we have interest in Watson or Pargo (I'd become loopy if we could get Watson). So there is definately going to have to be a 3 for 1 type of trade eventually happening just to make room to have a 15 player roster. As for Mckie, I love the signing. I see...

SAR coming to the Kings discussion (merged)

I always thought Reggie Evans would have been a good starter at the 4 for you guys. Reef is nice but him and Thomas seem like similiar players to me.

    FIVE-Team Blockbuster Completed...

We shall see :) As is I can see teams just sagging off their guys, clogging the lane, and daring Miami to beat them from the perimeter.

    FIVE-Team Blockbuster Completed...

Ify for Miami. They lose their best perimeter defender in Jones. Their 2 best 3pt shooters in EJ and soon to be Damon. Definately tougher inside this year but you have to have reliable shooters around Shaq and so far I don't see them.
