I'm starting to get concerned about this draft. The Bee article did it for me. No mention of Petrie in the picture, though supposedly he's still working for the Kings until the 30th. Just Malone working out potential draft candidates and him saying he's looking at lots of film on these guys. Frankly, Malone making the pick would probably be a freaking disaster. His decision is probably going to be informed much more on the workout than on seeing games in person and watching virtually every game the player has played. In that scenario, maybe we get the workout warrior, but not necessarily the best basketball player available. The main ingredient that is missing in any workout is BBIQ, of which this team is desperately in need. Now, if Vivek hires a GM who has been intimately involved in the coming draft with another team prior to the draft, then it's no so bad, as he will be making a very informed decision. But if someone like Bird who has not been working 24-7 over the past year on assessing personnel and he's coming into the draft cold as refrigerated fish, then that's not good . Anyway, now that I've got that off my chest, I'll go back to enjoying the nice Delta breezes that we have today.
