I haven't given up. I'm just not going to do what you say because I think it is a waste of money.
We could always cut it in half by going with a 1/2 page ad. I was just thinking BIG. The ad idea has not been done and seems more personal than a billboard because with an ad you can take the time to read it and look it over and over again. There's nothing wrong with a billboard but that's just me.
If you want to paint me as giving up, you aren't paying any attention.
I never mentioned anyone by name and that includes you. I said too many people, which can be from here and other sites I post on.
And as a matter of fact, I asked and asked for feedback and YOU couldn't find the time of day to tell me if my idea stunk, was good, or just foolish. Do you even know that other people are doing? Take your blinders off.
I honestly have not had the time to read through every posted comment on here because I am all over the place. I have my job but I do as much as I can to help save our team by reading and posting on this and other forums. I have already spent over $1,000 of my own money with no donations in trying to film a documentary to educate others on why we need a new arena. I bought a HD camera for over $2,000 to be used as my brother is a radio/TV/film graduate from SF State. My brother and I flew out to LA to film Staples Center and LA Live along with permission from the AEG folks. We were going to go to other locations but plans changed when we found out we're no longer in the 4th inning but rather in the top of the 10th inning, so to speak. I have already spent another $1,000 on airfare and hotel for Philadelphia next week. Originally I was going to film the arena and its downtown and watch the game as a guest of a certain Kings's player's family, but now we're going just to watch the and spend time with that certain family.
I have attended multiple city hall rallies.
I drove my car with my Here We Stay sign from Elk Grove to Linda (near Yuba City and Marysville) and back.
I have written letters to Mayor Kevin Johnson, the city council and Kings officials.
I buy the expensive seats in the lower level and display my sign and even gave away a $250 seat to one of my students to hold up his anti-Mickey Mouse sign.
I have done so much you or most on here will never know. Let's just say I have it in good faith that we still have a shot. It's very slim. But it's better than nothing.
I have not had much sleep in these last few weeks as I am doing all I can.
Until I am told the deal is officially done, I will not quit. I am on a mission. In the military we do not quit and complete our mission unless we're told otherwise.
I have others on here who can vouch for me on what I have done, tried to do and will do. But I'll leave it at that. I'm not here to fight, argue, etc. Just here to inspire others to not give up while there is still some hope left.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have some community service to do.
