lmao they sure gave it to joe and gavin.... can't get much clearer than that!

But the fact's remain that this deal is done pending the NBA approval.

One comment they hit the nail on the head with... 10 years of sell out's and they are complaining of not making enough money to fund their share of the arena... they could have built two arena's by now with the cash they have made from the kings over the last 20 years. Bad business decisions and bad spending on their part have left them with nothing.

Remember what your mommy told you? Always save for a rainy day! It looks like they spent it as fast as it came in.

Shame on your maloof's.

You really have no clue. They were not making that much money.

All right, hot shot. Don't be such a tease. Give us the lowdown.

I dare you.
I'm saying what I can, when I can.... sorry.

But my time here is just about up as there is not much left for me or the fans, I'm assuming this site will also close soon, but not sure about that and can only guess.

Let's just hope the Maloofs are watching things like this and reverse course.
The Maloofs strike me as impetuous and not overly bright by big business standards. After all, they didn't build a fortune, they inherited one and seem firmly on a course toward squandering it. They've been convinced that the grass is greener in Anaheim and that it will magically turn their franchise around and no one is going to change their minds at this point. Our only hope is that they're bluffing (which i really doubt at this point), that the Anaheim deal falls through somehow, or that by some miracle the league doesn't approve the move.

Yeah that is their new market welcoming them to their new home. They point out some of the same flaws in this move than we've also noted. But they are in LA and we are just the bitter jilted fans here. Nobody will pay attention to what we are saying, but how do you reconcile guys in your own area saying the same things? I think the Maloofs have vastly overrated their potential fanbase down there. I'm sure they think the money is all there and ready to flow into their pockets... elite free agents waiting to sign there... the adoring fans ready to toss a half century of Laker love for the new team because?

If this is SUCH a bad idea, I think there is a legitimate chance the NBA just says no.
That may actually be our best hope at this point. If it comes down to a vote, I can't imagine that owners in other big markets would be too crazy about setting a precedent for three teams in one market. Only problem is, there's more small market teams than big ones and they might be more inclined to like the idea of sharing the big markets.

I see their view but very hard on the Maloofs. Who really knows if it is going to work until they actually moved.
I guess no one has told John Ireland that there is no arena in Seattle for the Kings, either. Other than that, I was surprised they poo poo'd the idea of the Kings in OC as much as they did. Usually ESPN is supportive of the largest markets. Usually, I hate espn, but those bozos are more or less right.

It is difficult to be rational but I think you are absolutely correct; there shouldn't be three teams in one market. However they need to do more and that is provide some support so that there is monetary support for teams like the Kings so it becomes a sport for the entire country and not just for the rich areas.

If three can go to one market and it works, then Chicago deserves two more and New York deserves another. Stern has a dream of bringing the NBA to the whole world but so far, if three teams end up in one area, it will show that the NBA can't survive in the US, just a few select cities.

This came up in another thread. I won't repeat my whole post, but I don't think they would be dumb enough (or the NBA would be dumb enough) to let them bring it to a vote unless they know they had the votes in place. That process should be a formality.

When my little sister was about 6 years old, she used to play a little game. It went about like this:

Sis: Hey, Capt. Factorial, what's 8 times 7?
CF: That's 56.
Sis: Nuh-uh. You're wrong.
CF: Of course it is. You don't even know how to do your times tables yet.
Sis: Yes I do.
CF: OK, then what's 8 times 7?
Sis: I'm not going to tell you.
CF: That's because you don't know.
Sis: I do too know, I'm just not going to tell you.

She had an excuse, though, because she was about 6 years old. Not sure what yours is.

A few cheapshots at the Maloofs and smug douchebaggery in general but also right smack dab on the money.

My daughter is only 5... does that help?

No reason to hate... read it and move on if you don't want to believe or listen.... it's a free world right? Believe as you see fit and move on. :) No need for the hater hat you're wearing.

Here's the score -- your statements are patently ridiculous. Either back them up, or they are going to start summarily disappearing like any other unsubstantiated trolling does.

I will even give you a hint where you went wrong -- there are two sides to every balance sheet.

Well if as you say that the site will close(which I highly doubt) then there would be no harm in releasing this info now would it.
Unless of course you are lieing which is equally a possibility

This. So This.

I was about to post the same thing except yours was a bit more....elegant. Thank you.

There are too many unsubstantiated claims going around. "Because I know so, I can't share why." or the famous "IF I USE CAPS IT MAKES MY POINT MORE POWERFUL!" positions are weak, yet unfortunately, commonplace on a chat board.

The guys in the video are not making a good argument as much as it pains me to say it. If the Kings move, they are assuming they will be dead last among the other NBA teams and Anaheim teams. What's so painful about this thing is that the kings are ready to make the jump and within a couple of years will be making the playoffs every year. In 2-3 years, I'd put money on them having a better record than an aging and expensive Laker team (Kobe at 36 and 30M salary?). Anaheim (or wherever) is going to get all the spoils while Sacramento fans paid the heavy price for the down years of this rebuild. Socal fair-weather fans will come out in force. The Maloofs will return to NBA darling status.

Salt, meet wound.

lmao.... if you only knew.... but you never will, so ya I pull everything from the enquirer and tmz.
I don't know you or your history on this board, but from everything I've seen thus far, you have zero credibility with me. If you know, show what you know. If you don't know, then shut the **** up.

Would it be too evil if after they move I started rooting for franchise crippling injuries? LOL.

The Kings aren't going up in the standings with the lowest payroll and the cheapest choices taken.

It looks like a hope for a cherry sweet deal only to turn around and sell the team with the perceived higher market value of LA, though I wonder if buyers would be wary of being the third basketball team in a market with Kobe and Griffin on the other teams.

That's true if you think the Maloofs will continue to have the lowest payroll in the league every year even after moving. I don't believe that is even a possibility.

Lowest payroll = more money to attract free-agents, plus Reke and Cousins (and Thornton now) gives much potential for the future.

Los Angeles is not Orange County. I lived in OC for a few months, and while I never got a chance to really go into Los Angeles, I observed a clear distinction between OC and LA. If you are a free agent, you would admittedly have much more desire to sign for a team in the OC more than in Sacramento, so that can't be discounted. The only thing I agree with the second writer on that ESPN article is that the Clippers should have been the ones to move to Aneheim, but that's no reason for the Kings to not give it a shot if they have to relocate.

??

If you think the Kings will continue to have the lowest payroll in the league after they move to Anaheim, you are mistaken. As SOON as they move and the new CBA is done, I expect them to pump out the $$$ to attract new season ticket holders.

Ya know, the thing they could have done for the last....2 or 3 years. In Sacramento.
