what was the last movie you watched?

I know more than a few people that insist this film is genius. I pretty much refuse to watch anything with Costner from about Dances with Wolves forward.
Not only is it not genius, I don't understand why it had a record setting budget. I don't really know what they spent all that money on. Maybe it was revolutionary for 15 years ago, but I don't get it.

As for Costner, I'm not a huge fan, but I liked The Guardian.

It's been sooo long since I last watched a movie, all I watch is TV shows/Sports, someone should make a thread about TV Shows, what they like and don't like. Which ones are worth watching and etc.

I thought there was one (maybe more than one), it doesn't have the staying power of this one. Lots of new shows on, you should go ahead and start one.

saw a fistful of dollars last night (after the good, the bad, and the ugly a few weeks back)

i had seen parts of both here and there going way back as a kid.

It is hard to overstate how great these movies are, and how perfect the score and the cinemetgraphy compliment each other perfectly. Great movies!!!
there are huge plot holes/flaws/places where you have to squint and ignore something, and it just simply doesn't matter. Style wins. and these movies had PERFECT style.

Just watched it last night. I actually liked it. It got poor reviews and didn't do well at the box office, but it might be my favorite Robin Hood adaptation. You haven't seen this story yet.
I might have to check it out. I am not usually into those movies that go back in the days and what not but I could give it a try.

Saw The Town yesterday - overall a pretty good movie. I thought Ben did well in this role. The ending bugged me a bit, but was to be expected......

Finally watched Iron Man 2. Very enjoyable sequel that didn't quite measure up to the first imho. Still quite a bit of fun and a ton of action and Scarlett Johansson looked fantastic with dark red hair :)

This was my first test of my new receiver with room correction software and it had me dial my sub back quite a bit. Consequently the walls didn't feel like they were going to collapse like the first movie. This is a pretty good thing as I was able to watch the film after midnight and not get a nasty lecture from the wife, yet the surround was all over the place and the bass was still heavy when it was supposed to be.

Forgot that I went to a real theater on Friday and caught Jackass 3D. This was the first 3D movie I had seen since Polar Express despite having seen just about every 3D movie made during the 80s craze. If you're a fan you know what to expect, was it worth the 3D premium (3.50 in my case), I thought yes though some friends disagreed. It didn't really add to anything but there were 4 or 5 gag shots that I thought were well done that would have been pointless flat. Big thumbs up if you are a fan of the show or first two movies.

Watched a couple of movies today:

Red - Enjoyed this one quite a bit. More of a humorous action movie than a action-y comedy. A couple over-the-top things here and there, but lots of fun and all 3 of us enjoyed it. Still want to know how they get 400 rounds out of 20-round clips, but whatever.....

Moon - No real "action" to speak of, more of a psychological drama. Little slow (especially to start), obviously a "lower-budget" movie. Good idea behind it though. Kevin Spacey is listed in the credits, however he is just the voice of the moon base computer.

Edit - realized I hadn't said if I liked Moon or not. The first half of the movie seemed to be pointing in one direction, but then it threw in the curveball and went in another. Made it a better movie, but still not a "good" movie. Good idea, but just too slow getting anywhere. And the ending would be very improbable for the outcome they indicate.

And? That is kinda the point here, what did you think of them?
Killers was pretty lame. Grown ups had it's funny moments but it could of been better with all those comedians. Knight & Day was probably the best one, Tom Cruise is a spy and randomly pickes a woman from an airport to be part of his scheme and later they end up being a team, not a bad movie.

It had a good concept for a movie as far as plot.

I thought it was going to be a evil computer takes over the station-type movie at first. Then the clone part came in and it made sense and fit the movie. But it just drug on and on. I don't need True Lies or anything to enjoy a movie, but it just took forever to get anywhere. I found myself checking the clock a few times, and it is only a 1.5 hour movie!

And riding to Earth on an unmanned shuttle? No way that he could withstand the probable G-forces experienced in an unmanned dropship like that.

Shutter Island - Not what I was expecting, but a pretty good movie nonetheless. One of those ones where you have to pay attention to everything, or you'll be lost. DiCaprio has been in some nice movies the past few years

I watched Predators the other night. I'd put it ahead of all but the original, which I guess doesn't say much, but I liked it. I don't really think the "This is the Aliens to the Predator franchise" tag really holds true, for the few new things they did it was mostly more of the same from the first. But when the first is far and away the most watchable and looks pretty dated a fresh looking update is not such a bad thing.

There's a bunch of extra features on the Blu-Ray that look like they go into the mythology that I haven't watched yet but I think I actually will watch these ones.

You Again - went on a date night with my wife and caught this chick flick. For such a movie it wasn't too bad. First half was a little slow, the end, of course, was perfectly predictable. But had some funny parts in there to keep us entertained. And I have always liked Jamie Lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver. Having Betty White in there was nice too.
