Casspi plans on being the starter: Sam Amick

One of my oldest and dearest friends routinely spells her own name wrong, both in emails and in written correspondence; I keep telling her that she should just have it legally changed, and save herself some trouble.
I don't know the absolute proper spelling or pronunciation of my middle name, but that's primarily because my middle name whomps.

Maybe it's just the grammar OCD in me, but it drives me crazy that so many people get the their, there, they're, there's, theirs, your, and you're wrong!
One of my pet peeves is that people always say "could care less" when it should be "couldn't care less". I know we all know what they really mean, but it still bugs me for some reason.

How do I get in on this? Sadly the last time I gave my account number to someone for the purpose of depositing money, he instead took money. My bad!
was that the Nigerian crown prince? THat guy also owes me $785 million dollars. That deadbeat also owes me a case of "majestic grow" pills.
When I track him down, I 'll let him know that you are looking for him.

My middle name is Damian... and I spelled it wrong for years (until i NOTICED it "wrong" on my birth certificate when I was getting a passport)

My mom named me that a few years before "The Omen" came out, and after the movie got popular, she thought Damien seemed less evil than Damian, and just unilaterally changed the way she (and eventually I) spelled it. (this, by the way, is pure speculation on my part :D but it is based on conversations we had about the movie, and how it "ruined my beautiful name")

I'm hoping that there will still be some social security benefits for me when i retire....

My pet peeve is people that use the word "irregardless" instead of "regardless".

I hate that there are two words that legitimately mean the same thing. Flammable and inflammable. Who came up with that?

I guess I should mention Casspi here. ;)

Since people got confused and thought that inflammable means "not flammable" (e.g indestructible) it was decided that it is safer to use the word flammable without the in.

I'm not that smart, i just Googled it..

I guees I should mention Casspi here. ;)

I dont mind Greene coming off the bench. Hes what I like to think of as a "Supersub"
We can bring him in at the 2,3 or 4 so he brings tons of depth to our bench and gives us alot more options when subbing.

Casspi is the better offensive player and rebounder, if he can D up like Donte then Im fine with him starting.

The more I think about it, the more likely this seems to be the scenario. Just something about Casspi screams success. I do think he'll do EVERYTHING possible to become an actual star in this league. I can see him really blossoming to become a seriously dead eye shooter, adequate ball handler, very good defender, very good rebounder. He will have to work on his passing, and in the flow abilities. But especially with how hot his shooting was for basically an entire half season, he's got some serious potential.... but... so does Donte.

But Donte is a bit more versatile, and could be better utilized off the bench and for certain matchup situations. But just think, in three more years... these TWO??? I hope we find a way to keep them both without stifling either of their development.

But I think the roubounding edge will give Casspi the starting spot, for now. Who knows though, maybe rebounding is the thing that Donte magically and dramatically improved this offseason, similar to his defensive improvement last year.

I would prefer to balance the team so that the starting team is both offensively and defensively strong. This mean if the starting Center is a defensive player then I prefer Casspi. If the starting Center is not so good defensively then Greene would be more effective.

I could see Donte in the Lamar Odom role on this team.

I see both Casspi and Donte liabilities on defense more often than not. They both have some work to do to play good solid defense, CONSISTENTLY!

So many of the positional battles depend on the outcome of the other positional battles.

For instance, if we start Dalembert and Thompson, then that's not a lot of offense, and I am thinng Casspi's offense is needed in that linuep. On the other hand that is a TON of rebounding, adn when combined with Reke maybe Casspi's superior reboudning isn't really that important.

On the other hand if we for instance started Cousins and Landry, then combined with Reke that is a lot of offense, and a lot of shots being taken, and all of a sudden Casspi's offense isn't as important, and might even be a distraction if he does his non-passing thing, so maybe Donte fits better there as the roleplayer. In addition that's a weak defenisve frontline, and Donte might be abetter fit next to those guys as well for that reason. On the other hand, any starting lineup invoilving Landry leaves us a man short on the glass, so Casspi's edge there might be handy.

etc. etc. But just in general I'm not really sure its truly a head to head thing between those two guys given there spot a ways down the pecking order on the team. Who gets the nod could well end up depending on who the bigs are next to them, and to a lesser degree who the shooting guard is as well.

I truly believe Donte brings more to the table and should start. That being said...Go for it Casspi! I love the enthusiasm and desire to be the best. Unfortunately for him (and fortunately for us) there's a 6'11 guy with decent handles, good 1 on 1 defense and an increasingly consistent jump shot that stands in his way.
