Curry with the monster 27pt 14ast 8reb 7stl game to get Nellie his record. It would behoove Tyreke to keep his own ball rolling these next 4 games.

Stupid RIDICULOUS numbers. Tyreke needs to pull something nasty in these last games to leave a fresh taste in the mouths of those voters who are on his side.

It kills me how the warriors clearly pad his stats....meanwhile we sit Tyreke For stretches like NORMAL teams would do. Guess we all know by now, Don Nelson is anything but normal.

Why do 1/2 the Kings fans hate on Curry so much. He's fantastic and is making a decent case for ROY. I don't think he's going to get it just because Reke's been clockwork for 95% of the games played.

I guess I don't understand why our guy is playing out of his mind legitimately and their guy is some sort of a fraud.

Nellie ball= Just about anybody getting super inflated stats.

Why do fan always use the word 'Hating'? Im not sure where you're seeing hate.

It's not that Curry is a fraud...not at all. He's a very good player, and is having a spectacular rookie season. He's going to be a star in this league, I think (at least on one side of the ball). That being said, he's not as good as Evan's is right now. He started out much slower than Evans, and still isn't putting up numbers that are as good Evans'.

He (Curry) plays in a system that is notable for giving lesser players big stats. Don Nelson plays a 'unique' style of basketball, sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. It explains how he is the winning-est coach in NBA history, but doesn't have a single championship to his name. His win record, like his team's stats (and thus individual player stats), are much higher than their talent level would suggest, and in fact, vastly over-represent how good they are. Nelson even said that he thought Tyreke could play a good bit of 4 in this league (shudder...I mean he's big, but he's not Magic).

Curry's defense isn't half of what Tyreke's is. Yes, both likely gamble too much on steals, but Tyreke has much better fundamentals, not to mention a body built to be a top flight defender in the NBA (long arms, lots of bulk, unnaturally quick for his size). Curry, on the other, will likely never be a great defender at the PG. He has good size, but like Nash (who some are comparing him too), he doesn't have the super quickness or strength needed. He may become decent, but Tyreke is much better now, and will likely only widen the gap.

Which brings us to: Potential. Obviously a dirty word around the league, for a number of reasons, but Tyreke has much more than Curry. Evans is bigger, just as athletic (if not more so), younger, and much more raw. He basically needs to learn to shoot the jump shot from scratch. Curry, on the other hand, has a silky smooth jumper (and is one of the best shooting rookies in a long while). Despite this, Tyreke is already better.

It's not a matter of hating. It's the difference between a refined offense-oriented player putting up stats in a crooked system vs. a flawed brute getting his points by sheer force of will and physical talent. Once Evans sands off the rough bits of his game, he'll be in a whole 'nother class than Curry.

^ Well put. None of that even mentions the fact that Curry to this point has received the same if not more media attention than Evans. Why would a lesser rookie get more attention and coverage than the best rookie? Why are there 15 televised Warriors games and only one Kings game? If the difference in talent between Evans and Curry is so blatantly obvious then why hasnt anyone in the media came out and said so? Its all a bunch of BS that is very frustrating for Kings fans and their neglected franchise. That is why Curry gets the shaft from Kings fans.

It would be nice if we could get some wins in these last 4 games so the Warriors don't fiinish with a better record. Because yeah, we might have a 2% less chance in the lottery or whatever, but if the Ws have more wins than us that'll be used against Reke also in his chase for ROY. They're already looking for reasons not to give it to him, please lets not give them any more even if it costs us lottery position.

Would be really nice if Tyreke could light one of these last 4 teams like LAC up for 30 or 40.

Napear had Ian Thomsen, SI NBA writer on talking about the league. ROY was brought up. Thomsen said he was voting for Jennings because he seems to think that Jennings made his team better then any other rookie. That Jennings has made his team a playoff team. He thinks that Jennings is largely responsible for Boguts improvement this year...

He also said he voted for Carmelo over Lebron for ROY because he thought Carmelo made his team better then Lebron.

Anybody else catch the interview? Did it make any sense to you?! Sure as heck didn't to me.

I DO believe that Anthony should have given Lebron more of a run for his money in the ROY voting. Anthony took a 17 win team and propelled them to 43 wins, and they actually competed well against Minnesota in the playoffs that year.

It's just, sometimes, a Rookie is so glaringly GOOD (Lebron, Evans, Jordan, Robertson), that for them not to win ROY is just a show of sheer stupidity by the voters. Would you trade Anthony for James? I would.

Edit further: would you trade Jennings for Evans? Hell yes.

I don't think people "hate on" Curry so much as they want people to see the WHOLE picture.

Curry plays in a system that is always looking to run, and always putting up quick shots. This makes for a higher scoring game (more possessions) which also means there are more opportunities for assists. I would also point out that GS plays almost no defense (they mainly seem to try for a lot of steals).

Tyreke and the Kings play half-court basketball most of the time. Tyreke also has every team set their defense up primarily to stop him, including putting their best defender on him. Curry hasn't had to worry about that much this season. Most of the season, other teams were focusing their defense on Ellis.

I am not saying that Curry isn't having a great rookie season (much better than I thought he would), just that you have to take into account the different systems and how they are defended.

One other thing I would point out is that as good as Curry's stats have been the second half of the season, Tyreke's have been pretty similiar. He just did it the first half as well.

So as for assists and rebounds he's officially done.. His worst could be 5.0rpg exact...

As for points he is a +9 so basically if he averages 15.5ppg then he's got it! Go reke!

mavs, rockets, lakers. Real test coming in particular the last one
Im not so sure about that. The Rockets dont possess any significant shotblocking threats around the rim and theyre without shane battier. The Lakers should still be without Andrew Bynums services. The only team that Tyreke might have a tough time scoring on is Dallas.

Dallas plays wicked "D." I'm gonna be biting my nails all throughout that game.

I remember telling a buddy of mine about being upset with what a journalist had to say on a topic. The friend reminded me that by and large they aren't the sharpest tool in the drawer. We're not talking rocket scientists here. You could make a case that they their "media face time" to intelligence quotient is the lowest of all occupations in our society (well, maybe politicians might be up there). This guy follows the rule..
