Why cant Kings "down to the wire games" ever finish in a totally normal fashion, without a **** job by the refs at some point? For instance I watched the Knicks and the Hawks today. Refs were totally good, no controversy whatsoever, alot of clutch play and the underdogs win. Thats usually what its like when I watch other "crunch time games" by other teams. When I watch the Kings, it couldn't be more opposite.
Should have seen the Hawks/Cavs game. Varejo hit a crazy shot, but the Hawks were outshot at the line by a drastic margin despite slashing to the basket.

The answer is there in your observation - its because you are a Kings fan of course. Hard as it is to beleive every single other fanbase out there has these same sorts of moments and same sorts of threads after every tough loss. Even the Lakers.

I know, I thought of that. At the same time though you usually see announcers at least mention questionable calls if one exists. Maybe it's because they are national tv announcers, but I never see that either.

This was a tough one. And I'm not into blame right now as far as our team goes. I doubt anyone of us expected us to win this game, on their court, without Evans or Martin. But, we should have. We make two freethrows and the game is over. I'm not blaming Udoka. Anyone can miss. He picked the wrong time, but thats life.

This is all I'll say about the officiating. Kobe is a great player, and the Lakers are a great team. They're hard enough to beat straight up. They don't need any extra help. Well, they did tonight. Anyone that thinks that Kobe doesn't get special treatment, is either blind, or doesn't understand the game. He does! Its not the way it should be, but, thats the way it is.

You see in my mind, perhaps a convoluted one, this special treatment actually spoils his image in the minds of everyone thats not a Laker fan. If Kobe hits that shot at the buzzer without pushing off and without the heel of his foot on the line, or so it appeared to me after replaying it over about 20 times, I applaud. I say well done. I don't like it, but I respect it. Now, I just have a bad taste in my mouth. And its hard to swallow. I feel cheated. And some, or all of you can tell me that I wasn't, but I'll still feel that way. Just the opinion of an old guy thats watched professional basketball for over 50 years.

Talk to Byron Russel. ;)

But now irony aside, point out to be the last time you've seen that call made in that situation, against anybody? The refs absolutely hate to blow the whistle on the final play of the game and decide it. Its pretty much anything goes.
i find myself dis-liking the NBA (mostly reffing) more recently.. maybe because im paying more attention to all the bull**** they get away with. They are like a casino, you can win sometimes, but in the longrun house always wins.

If it is a foul its a foul regardless of 1 second being on the clock or 11:59 on the clock.

kobe is superman in this world!! he gets away with rapeing people on the court and off the court. jeez. If kobe killed someone he'd prolly get away with it.

You are entitled to your opinion. I disagree most adamantly.
And if Udoka makes them you would have told us that the Kings won in spite of the refs doing their best to cheat them into losing...Kobe barely released the ball in time and in bounds, but hey,I guess that shot is easier for him than the free throws for Udoka.

After reviewing that shot a million times I can tell you 100% Kobe was out of bounds.

kobe's foot was on the line.... clearly so does that mean it's out of bounds?

i cant wait for the kings to get full force and unleash hell...

100% spot on. I thought they Lakers got the benefit of the calls, but they are the defending champs, the home team and had the superstar so it's going to happen that way.

As much as I would have loved to have won, I am still thrilled we had a young team missing our two best players and still fought the defending champs this hard in their own building. Finishing games is something players learn how to do. We had the same problems in 99 and 00 before we learned how to win and that was with a more veteran team than we have now. We are headed in the right direction. And this game just proved the game at Arco was no fluke.
Disappointed but oh those Kings - great game. Calm down on the blame game. We've got a team! I agree completely with poster. Our guys just did not give up. Very enjoyable game, very good basketball, lousy result for a Kings fan. Now a deep breath. Good night.

After the game, Kobe saved an elderly man from a burning building, kissed five thousand babies, killed Osama Bin Laden, and then fed the hungry.*

*according to Lakers fans.

So, Kobe's foot was definitely on the line. I didn't see that camera angle before. And naturally, the Laker broadcast was too busy hailing Saint Kobe to replay it.

He's clearly out of bounds at 00:09 in the video. He sets both heels down and then jumps up. We got boned, straight up, shot shouldn't have counted. I hate the zebras.

Between K9 and Sergio that's what u get.
Well, look at this:

Reke - OUT
Martin - OUT
Garcia - OUT

Donte - Fouled out
JT - Unjustifiably fouled out

K9 and Sergio were arguably the best we had at the moment. Maybe Brockman but you can't blame K9 anyway for his rotation. He couldn't have imagined that Sergio would've been pushed out of Staples.

but the real story is......

1. kobe left the old man at home with the stove on.
2. made five thousand babies cry....
3. He IS OBL
4. starved a couple of people then just fed em cause he wanted to...:D

Wow. The Lakers needed a miracle to beat: Udrih, Casspi, Greene, JT, Hawes and company.... yeah that is mighty impressive. Oh yeah, and they got ref help too. That said, Ime Udoka makes his free throws and Kobe is an afterthought. I am really beginning to hate the word "almost".
