Nice quote from that article ""Gilbert told me after the game he hopes I get the Rookie of the Year award," Evans said. "But he also told me he hopes I start playing the 2 so he doesn't have to guard me anymore."
HAHAHA!!...Hey Gilbert, I hate to break it to you, but you'll be having to guard him in like a month in DC!:D Long live Reke Havoc at PG!

NBA.com: Kings' Evans having rookie season for the ages

Sacramento Kings rookie Tyreke Evans was watching television with his cousin the other day when the announcers started talking about what Evans has accomplished thus far in his rookie year.

Evans said he got up and turned off the television.
"Why'd you turn off the TV?" his cousin asked.

"I don't want to hear that," Evans told his cousin. "I don't want to get big-headed."

You gotta love this kid.

Great article. I can't believe they have moved Evans up to 9 in the MVP race now. At the begging of the year, some bball experts predicted he wouldn't even be top 3-5 for ROY.

Evans makes me happy :D

I love the guy. It's exciting to see someone so dynamic wearing a Kings uniform. I also love the fact that he moved up a space in the MVP Race even though we all know he isn't going to win the award this year. He is finally getting the recognition he deserves.

The thing that has always intrigued me about some of the great players is their maturity. Magic was the personification of that. Bird also. That is something that is so underated in evaluating players. Without it, a player is likely to coast and read their own headlines. With it, a player can have a rendevous with greatness.

This article is being discussed in another thread...could a mod merge it perhaps??:)

if evans had bibby's swag he would be the man. tyreke doesnt smile and has this nicholas cage mono-tone look on his face all of the time. he shows no emotion but not in the tim duncan kinda way.
Evans doesn't need Bibby's Swagger. With all that swagger Bibby couldn't guard himself out of a wet paper bag.

False bravado doesn't make a super star. Oh, by the way how many all star games did Bibby make???

We'll see how many Tyreke will make in his career barring injury.
