Proof That the Loch Ness Monster Exists?

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,543280,00.html??test=faces

Google Earth

Jason Cooke spotted "Nessie" while browsing the Google Earth's satellite photos.

This amazing image on Google Earth could be the elusive proof that the Loch Ness Monster exists.
Sun reader Jason Cooke spotted "Nessie" while browsing the Web site's satellite photos.
The shape seen on the surface of the 22-mile Scottish loch is 65ft long and appears to have an oval body, a tail and four legs or flippers.
Some experts believe Nessie may be a Plesiosaur, an extinct marine reptile with a shape like the Google image.
"This is really intriguing. It needs further study," said researcher Adrian Shine, of the Loch Ness Project.
Sightings have been claimed for centuries.
To see the object, enter co-ordinates Latitude 57°12'52.13"N, Longitude 4°34'14.16"W in Google Earth.

This is funny.

The lat/long do not point to the location of the photo. The photo clearly shows what appears to be a boat with a wake behind it. If you look for this, look at Loch Ness and go about 1/4 of the way up the lake (SW to NE). If you pan to the SW corner of the lake, there is a marina there with a whole bunch of boats docked there, and they look just like the one in the photo........

But hey, I guess the guy did get his name in the paper. ;)

So, I just updated my phone (Samsung Epix) to Windows Mobile 6.5, which isn't officially released yet. I was holding my breath because I was afraid I would brick my phone, but the upgrade went smoothly. And now, my phone is much more user-friendly.

The primary complaint I always had about this phone is that it seemed capable of much more than it does. It is Samsung's first "smartphone" with a touchscreen, kind of the big brother to the Blackjack. And it works fine, except the occasional glitch. But just not enough cowbell, you know?

So this update takes a touchscreen phone that previously worked more like a Palm Pilot and turned it into a hybrid between an iPhone and a Palm Pre. Not as fast as either, and still not as functional, but much easier to use, more touchscreen friendly, and overall, I'm happy with it. Windows Mobile 7.0 is coming out next year, and that should fix whatever problems I might have with 6.5 (none yet, but it's Microsoft). And best of all, my phone still works!

I am so beyond the times as far as phone technology is concerned. When you live in an area that does not have cell phone reception you kind of don't bother keeping up with things...

I'm really worried about my best friend - she seems to be addicted to World of Warcraft. I know she uses it as a escape from some serious stress in her life, but she'll be on this game for as much as 16 hours, coming up only for meals and calls of nature. I'm wondering if I need to stage an intervention.

On further searching, I found this. I might have to send this link to several people I know. Consider it my PSA for the month.

My brother was addicted to WOW for 3 years. He has PTSD from the navy and my mom enabled him, he used it as a form of escape as well. She allowed him to sit home and play the exact same way in which you described. He became absorbed, shut out, and very rude. After repeated failed interventions you know what cured him? My mom finally threatened to make him homeless, and I started breaking his 3000 dollar computer every time I came over, repeatedly. It got very expensive, my own brother threatened legal action against me and I reminded him that I (also hospitalized for mental issues), was his loving, understanding brother. He didn't seem to care so I engaged him in a real world all out heated brawl. Broken, the boy found a job and seems to be more engaged nowadays. But you can do that to a guy. Hard to say how to fix a girl.

Good luck with your friend. She has found a way to escape the real problems of her life and I'm guessing it's going to be very difficult for her to let go.

I really don't get this obsession with WoW, and I'm a huge RPG fan. But everybody's different I guess. Good luck with your friend.

With little luck finding another job, I'm heading back to university (after having completed another 3 year program a few years ago). I should be finished in 2076. It's gonna suck not having a steady income again for a while :(

I am addicted to vitamin water. I recently worked in a bank for 3 years and was fired. I hated the last 2 years of it anyway and I see the current situation as an opportunity to go in a different direction. I go into the U.S. Navy in 5-6 months. With most of my living expenses covered i'll be able to save a ton of money. When i get out of the Navy my plan is to go into california highway patrol. Youd be surprised at how much they make as well as how many days a week patrol officers work. I like to play call of duty lol.

It feels damn good to be back in school. I just cracked open Pride & Prejudice, Norton Anthologies, The Well Crafted Argument, and A Poli-Sci book. I'm an English major, but next semester = MATH!!! (And more literature, Woot!)

I really do feel good right now. Last semester I dropped out because of some mental health problems, and now I'm drug free (it was prescription stuff, don't worry), and getting back on track!

Bricklayer is a big fan of Austen's work if memory serves... Sounds like you're going to have a lot of reading ahead of you.

Props on getting back on track.

Just got home from Arthur Ashe Kids Day @ the US Open. My daughter and I had a lot of fun and lots of pictures.

Japan's new first lady says she rode UFO to Venus

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's next prime minister might be nicknamed "the alien," but it's his wife who claims to have had a close encounter with another world.

"While my body was asleep, I think my soul rode on a triangular-shaped UFO and went to Venus," Miyuki Hatoyama, the wife of premier-in-waiting Yukio Hatoyama, wrote in a book published last year.

Um, Venus is really, really hot (and has an atmosphere composed almost entirely of CO2 if I remember correctly). I don't think she would have liked it there.
