what was the last movie you watched?

Just watched " Curse Of The Golden Flower" a foreign film with Chow Yun Fat & Li Gong. this movie was pretty awesome, it has probably the best costume design I have seen in any movie recently and its just a really good movie visually. It has a great story and awesome action scenes aswell. I picked it up for 5 bucks at the movie store not knowing what it was, but it was defintiely worth the purchase and the watch.
I've seen this movie a while back and I agree that is a pretty good and very well made movie.

but I didn't like the ending though, with everyone dying except the emperor

If you like that, "Hero" and "House Flying Daggers" are similar martial arts films by the same director, Zhang Yimou. His earlier films were generally more intimate character studies with zero action, but everything by him is absolutely masterful and visually stunning. In my book, only Kurosawa and Hitchcock can match his hit rate.

I should also add how amazing I find it that he's been able to create such art under constant government oppression, and that the vast majority of his films feature the beautiful Gong Li.

The Saint with Val Kilmer and Elizabeth Shue. Yeah, it's cheesy and not a "good" movie. But every 5-10 years I want to watch it. So my wife and I did for the heck of it.

Just watched "What We Do is Secret", a biopic about Darby Crash and the Germs. This was a frustrating movie because it got so many little things right and so many big things wrong. Great soundtrack though.

"Shoot Em Up" wit Clive Owen & Paul Giamani

ridiculously jam packed action movie with awesome kills. (I never thought I would see someone get murdered with a carrot, boy was I wrong.)

about to watch Snatch.

Also watched Ocean's 13 and The Kingdom last night. I thought O13 was not as good as 11 but better than 12 and enjoyed The Kingdom.

Gamer, because dad wanted to see it.

Don't. Premise of the movie isn't that bad, but very flawed in execution. Just not good at all, especially the first half.

I'm probably gonna be seeing this one regardless of the bad reviews. Should be self-explanatory as to why :).

Saw GI Joe the other night, and man talk about cheesy. Crazy action scenes and a few funny moments, but very cheesy in some parts. Never watched the cartoon either so I didn't know many of the characters or the story

For those of you with Princesses:

Hannah Montana. Saw it, watched my 2 yr old diva sing and dance (BTW, are you all as shocked as I am that Billy Ray has actually become a decent actor?), scorching hot Taylor Swift makes a cameo. Jackson (Miley's brother), makes that show go. That's a pretty funny kid.

It was not a waste of time, if you got a crazy Hannah lovin' daughter like me.

I'll take cheesy over bad any day of the week. It's like they had some idea (that is actually not bad) and wanted to wrap computer games into it, so they crammed the Sims, a FPS, mind control, and if you ever saw "Lost in Space" (movie with Matt LeBlanc) - the control scheme used for the robot, but not nearly as well done or interesting - thrown in for good measure.

One thing that was really annoying was that if it really was a movie pitched to "gamers" they wouldn't need to explain everything. Use ping and gibs and whatever else they had and people will figure it out. If you are pitching a movie to mechanics you wouldn't need to explain what bolts and nuts and pistons do, would you? It's like they are intentionally making a movie to make Jack Thompson mad, and that's fine, but at least make it a good movie if that is what you want to do.

It is violent, including to women, some nudity but not really any point to it (playing to the gamers stereotype that they will do anything to see a partially naked woman), some gamers as disgusting fat slobs living in basements (again, playing on bad stereotypes), lots of blood and guts that really isn't necessary, but most of all, just not a movie done well.

The commercials to Gamer look so bad I can't imagine anyone wanting to see it. Thanks for sitting through it Warhawk.

I watched The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford last night. Kind of starts off slow but well worth it in the end. Rich character development that really shows multiple angles to a story and characters that has received a pretty one sided re-telling for the last 100 years or so.

How about that brilliant tagline? "The last time Gerard Butler kicked this much *** was 300 years ago!" That's right ad wizards, the battle for Sparta occured in the early 18th century! :p
I managed to miss that! Hilarious.

"The Boondock Saints"

Its got that overused "Vigilante" theme(good guys killing bad guys) that alot of other movies have (especially Charles Bronson movies), but it was still a great watch.

This movie was done in 1999, and the sequel is actually coming out this october. Im def going to see that one in theaters.

awesome movie. not meant to be taken literaly or seriously yet it still has an authenticity to it. Very original, even though, like OR said,it uses old plotlines.

Is it dead!?!

If you have Netflix watch "Overnight", its available on Netflix on demand. Its the documentary of the making of Boondock Saints and is very interesting. It provides plenty of insight why its taken 10 years+ for him to get a second movie done. When I worked in Hollywood I thought "the rules" seemed a bit silly but always followed them because I liked what I was doing. Overnight is a good lesson in what happens when you think you are above them.

I really had no idea what the movie was all about but decided to rent it because Ben Affleck was in it. I must say this movie was entertaining and a pretty good thriller with different twists and turns. Definitely recommended if you like political thrillers.

I watched Rob Zombie's Halloween remake last night. It wasn't as bad as I expected it to be but there were a few parts that seemed unnecessary and like all the horror remakes/reboots that have come the past few years I just don't get why they are bothering.

No one's gonna believe this, but I just watched Jerry Maguire for the first time last night. Never had a real desire to see it, and I guess I know why now. There were a couple of funny moments, a couple of good lines, problem is I had seen all of them already. I liked the kid, Ray. Best character in the movie. But this one goes down as "Overrated" in my book.
