Tyreke Evans will start from Day One

Donte is showing improvement, except with his shot selection. He's playing like Salmons now. Driving to the rim but failing to kick out when the defense shuts him down. PT and a firm hand from Westphal should fix that problem.
Omri hasn't played in a month, & he's having problem with the speed of NBA players. Conditioning and timing need to be improved.
Noc's starting job should be secure, at least until the trade deadline, but I suspect until next season. His & Martin's experience will be the stablizing force this year.

There was a link to a YouTube clip posted sometime last night that said Evans was injured, someething about a torn ligament in his hand. I can't view YouTube (the ol' dial-up problem) and was wondering if this is true how serious the injury is as it could certain impact whether or not he starts on day 1.
I also have to wonder if this is Gavin's fault - you know, jinx and all that?

This is good news, but I wonder how it will effect Udrih.

Between Evans and Sergio ( two very different point guards that offer a good change of pace when they enter the game ) they should get all the PG minutes .. Beno is absolutely the odd man out ..
I really like what Ive seen from Greene this summer league. He is getting after it on defense and I like what I see from him on the boards. I like that he is taking it to the rim and even posting up instead of taking bad 3's ( he still does but I think hes cut it down ) .. It looks like he has been working on becoming a better complete player and I am noticing it .. I really hope he can get at least 20 mpg this season.

In the interview Amick asked him about his finger, Tyreke said he tore a ligament in his finger but he said he is ok .. He was icing it during the interview and said he plans on playing the last 2 games of the summer league, so unless he needs some kind of surgery it shouldnt be a problem by the time the season starts...
However, I could see the Kings staff keeping him out of the last two games to prevent it from getting worse ..
I want a tough dude as in his style of play, but if he is hurt, then there is no reason that he needs to be out there. We all know Tyreke is tough and he does not need to show it in summer league. If this was the regular season, it would be a different story, but we have seen that Evans can dominate summer league already and the best option is to let the finger heal.
I think it's a mistake to label him the starting PG before he's ready for it. He's pretty far away from it and just watching summer league, I can tell what teams scouts are going to see and advise to do against him. We saw it with the Bucks and it will only get harder versus NBA talent. We'd have to start Cisco at 3 if they want to have enough ball handling on the floor to be safe. Noc, Martin and Evans are a turnover nightmare waiting to happen.
Also, it means Beno is slowly going to slide down next to KT as our overpaid grumps at the end of the bench. If Beno knows he has no chance at the starter spot, he'll likely just regress mentally. These are all knocks against him, but it doesn't change the fact that it could be a negative locker room.
And to add to that negativity, Evans won't be ready to start at PG on an NBA team, not with a point forward or whatever to bail him out. His passes are off, his post feeds poor, his ball safety poor and his vision poor. He is trying to look to pass, but when all else fails he'll revert to being a scorer and that can alienate teammates. And if he doesn't developt very fast, this team is going to be very bad from the get go. Like, embaressingly bad. Add that to unhappy vets in the locker and it is not the atmosphere you want.

I'll pay money to come down from the forest and watch Evans as he learns the ins and outs of being a point guard in the NBA. And from what most people are saying, I suspect that's a much more realistic prevailing attitude. Fans WILL pay for hustle and energy, even if there are mistakes. Jason Williams is forever the stereotypical example of that...

I don't care who starts - I want to see energy and excitement, heart and hustle on the court and I think having Tyreke Evans on our team just tipped the scales way over in favor of that happening.

Who really cares about what Beno thinks or how he acts. Do you really think he was making a ton of friends by blaming everyone else on the team when he turned the ball over the last few seasons?

I'm actually tired of hearing this. If the team moves, it will be because there isn't going to be a new arena, period. No new arena means it just isn't financially viable to stay in Sacramento, regardless of how many fans show up. Sell-outs won't even save the team without a financially viable arena.
