Predict the Kings' Record - 1st 4 Games!

#1
As the Kings' start their 2008 season with the usual screwjob eastcoast roadtrip (how many years has it been since we had our season start with a multiple home game stand or even have their 1st game at home?) i thought i'd start by asking what you think their record will be before they finally get a home game.

Wed, Oct 29 at Minnesota ~~~ loss
(If they are going win one of these, it should be this one. It should be close)

Fri, Oct 31 at Miami ~~~ loss

Sat, Nov 1 at Orlando ~~~ loss

Mon, Nov 3 at Philadelphia ~~~ loss

I'm usually optimistic at the start of the season but man, this is brutal. I certainly hope i'm wrong!!! 0-4 to start

0-4, normally I would say the Minni game is winnable, but opening night for a home team is a big deal so I would not be surprised to see us lose by double digits tonight. The rest of the teams are just flat out better than us. It is going to be a loooooong season.

This is the 5th year in a row, the Kings have started on the road. I wrote to the league when the schedule came out and complained that this is just patently unfair to the team and especially to the fans. I told them this should alternate years for every team. How hard can that be?:mad::mad:

2-2. Where's your love for our team. You have to believe guys....even if it looks bleek.
I DO love our team but I'm just being realistic instead of having my "head in the clouds" like i do every year. Its just my opinion thats all. I hope your right and i'm wrong! ;)

I think we can go 0-4 just as easily as we can go 3-1.

Minny - I think we are the better team, but they are at home and its opening night .. I see this as a draw, anyone can win it, however look for spencer to have a nice game .. Big Al may be a very good offensive player, but he is not there yet defensively .. we can get him into foul trouble with Kmart and Spence in the post .. then we really have the advantage.

Miami - everyone likes this team and I dont understand why. Beasley is a rook and I dont think he will make that much of a difference this early in the year. Then they have either chalmers, quinn, or banks as there starting PG .. yep, this is one of the only situations were we have a huge advantage at the PG spot.. If you take beasley out of the equation they dont have another big who can do anything offensively .. we just have to worry about Dwade ( marion is garbage if he's not on a run n gun team ) which is no easy task .. but this game is winnable for sure.

Orlando - I think we lose this game straight up .. we'll see, I think we have the better point guard again, but Howard is a monster, If we get him into foul trouble, thats another story

philly - another team im not going to buy just yet, brand is a veryyy good player .. i'll admit , I havent watched them play this pre-season ( who has?) but is he healthy? is he willing to give it his all or will he hold back? There chemistry might not be there just yet

I think we can get a W tonight even if we only play average, but we'll have to be on top of our game to win on the road in Miami, Orlando, and Philly. So I guess that I predict we will start 1-3.

0 - 4

I'll be pulling for ORL @ the game SAT; but chances are, due to ORL simply being an all-around better team, & SAC playing their 3rd game in 4 days on the road, SAC will fall.
SAC prob won't receive their 1st 'W' 'til they go home against Memphis on the 5th of NOV, or 'til Brad comes back next FRI vs. MIN.

0-4 is very possible, but I think 1-3 is most realistic. I can see them stealing one on the road against either Minny or Miami to start off the trip.
But Orlando and Philly at the end of a four-games-in-six-nights Eastern swing is probably too much to ask. Especially for a young team.

P.S. Predictions are supposed to be devoid of emotion and "belief in our team."

From a fan perspective, I "believe" they can go 98-0.

A lot of the games on this trip are winnable, but only if one of the kids (Hawes, Thompson, Bobby Brown, Shelden) steps up. I think we'll go 1-3, with the one game being where one of them has a solid outing.

4-0 Baby, Spencer Hawes pulls a Dikembe Mutombo out of his butt and with his stifling defense, propels us to the best start in the league

ok, lets see....if we play to our potential, then 3-1 is possible. There are no real powerhouses the first 4 games. the toughest will be Orlando. 3-1.very possible.

Judging from the preseason returns, I'm not too optimistic at all, and even beating Minny may be a stretch, given their addition of Mike Miller, and their young role to super role players (Love-Foye-McCants-Brewer-Telfair) seem better than ours (Thompson-Hawes-Douby-Greene-Williams)--the extra oomph is that we start out on the road, so there's a good chance we may lose that one. Miami is everywhere on most people's projections, and their season can go both ways because they're essentially a three man team with a whole mass of role players who haven't risen to the challenge; I actually like our chances here more than against Minnesota, strangely enough, because I'm not that sold on Miami at all. If we're going to take one, in terms of talent, I think it may be against SouthBeach. Orlando and Philly--I really, really doubt it, and sincerely hope that I don't have to elaborate any further on this. If it's a talent vs talent matchup, I'd say 2-2 if we decide to make an early pounce/get our acts together against the first two teams, but to me it's a coin toss here between 1-3 and 0-4.

I don't know and don't really care as long as we beat someone on this trip. Kings could have stole this one for the taking at Minny - so now lets steal one down at South Beach.

Again, JT should start in a match up against fellow rook Mike Beasley. He's seen the NBA #2 overall pick up close and personal before, besting him big time in a college tourney match-up. In his debut tonight off the bench JT became the first Kings rookie to have double/double since Jerry Lucas (HOF) went for 23 & 17 in his Kings rookie opening game in 1963.

Heat fell to Knicks tonight in NY 120-115. Beasley started playing a mediocre ,if not horrible 27 mins - 9 pts/4 boards, 4-14 from field, jacking up 5 treys, hit 1. Also, had 3 TOs, did not get to the line with 0 personal fouls.

GO KINGS IN MIAMI!
